Coffee Toll

Much of my life is spent with coffee. Knowing this, there usually is a toll cat set up in front of the kitchen. Toll must be paid prior to a refill of the cup. Sometimes, the gatekeeper has underestimated the level of my coffee cup and sets up her toll position prior to my finishing my coffee. When this happens, I am sent warning notices that the toll will have to be paid.

Now, after this initial warning flash, a disgruntled siren is emitted, warning me of the impending toll and then the gatekeeper moves the toll belly into full stage collection mode.

Since I still had coffee in my cup, Yoshi, the gatekeeper, decided to hell with it and came over to the couch to demand the toll so she could go sit on the couch in my room to catch sunbeams. I am now clear to retrieve my coffee since I have prepaid the toll.

*Please note, I have not hoovered yet to eliminate the dry leaves and debris the dogs have tramped from yesterday and this morning. The rug by the kitchen door looks like a forest path when they come in sometimes. Luckily for me, the great horned owl that sometimes roosts in our juniper tree has not horfed up mouse bits and fur so my cairn has not come in dressed like the Kurgan this morning.

JYJ et al.

Thought I’d share some pretty this morning. This is JYJ. Kim Junsu, Kim Jaejoong and Park Yoochun (left to right facing the screen). They’re a musical group and quite close friends.

Pretty as well as dorky. I have a special love for the dork in the middle. Jaejoong. This is from a photoshop they were doing for Nii, a clothing line.

Tam Kitteh Update: Saturday Morning

Smooches

Woke up early and headed down to the Vet. They open at 7:30. We were there around 9. Tam ate a few ounces of tuna and was ravenous. We also brought them cookies. Always bribe the staff. It’s like taking red fish to the monks at temple. Always bribe the monks with food. They will take care of the spirits better.

I got as far as opening the tuna tupperware when his face was in it. So, I’m guessing he’s a bit hungry.

My sister’s cell phone doesn’t take the best pictures so bear with it. He’s actually pretty pitch black. Although right now he’s got a catheter on one side and bandages on the other from his previous catheter.

He is looking good. Flaky skin because he was dehydrated but doing well.

Now I am home with McDonald’s coffee I had to doctor and some food. I might actually write later now that I feel better about the cat.

But he’s all purry and happy. He was falling into a food coma. He was all.. belly is full! Sleep nao.

The tech who came to get him was quite proud she got him to nom some yogurt. With the tuna, she’ll get even more into him. He was quite happy. There’s also some chicken there but tuna seems to be the protein of choice right now.

Tam Kitteh Update Friday Edition

Just came back from seeing Tam. He’s doing well. Ate the hell out of the low-fat tuna we brought. Bit my finger while nomming which is a good sign. Very alert. Purred up a storm then threw a bit of a pissy fit because he wasn’t being allowed to roam thru the room.

He’ll still be there, probably over the weekend but ah, looked so much better. Thanks all who sent him best wishes.

G-Dragon MV

Now I’ve been waiting for this album and I’m going to share the video. GD’s always been an odd duck. He excels at odd. And usually is sardonic when he’s referencing himself. This video is definitely all him.

That aside, I like the song. I’m not much on “rap” but it works. His best friend Taeyang (also a member of Big Bang with GD) is slid into the video so it’s a fun piece if you know what you’re looking at. The bright yellow hair? I think it’s a shout out to being a Dragon.

Translated lyrics beneath the cut.

Quick Tam Kitteh Update

He’s still at the hospital and probably will be for a couple more days. Eating finally. Looks like a severe acute pancreatitus. I probably spelled that wrong but I’ve had no sleep.

Hopefully he can come home soon. Lots of antibiotics but he’s had some of his yogurt. *crosses fingers* Home!

Domains and Dominos…

So if you are one of the tens of people who follow this site, you’ve been following rhysford.wordpress.com. Today, I’ve decided to bite the bullet and just outright purchase rhysford.com and have my blog and pages point there. You probably won’t see a change and it’s really just so I can have a smaller address on my business cards. Which I still have to design. Right after I finish this chapter.

Yeah, add something else to the Do-Now list.

I appreciate all of you that are with me in this. Truly, every word I write really belongs to you. Haato.

Ink thereof

Here’s the midway stretch of the tattoo. The skin on my upper thigh is thin, especially around that scar coming down across my leg so after a couple of hours I’d had enough. Rob figured it was painful because usually I’m… sure whatever. This one had me swearing. We also probably should have let the black heal up a bit more so the lines were still a bit raw.

This is just the shading and part of the green. The bright colours will be coming in on the next layer. It’ll be a few weeks. Much like childbirth (or so I’m told), you have to forget it hurts then go have more.

Tam Kitteh

Tam Kitteh went to the hospital this moring. He will be there for a few days getting meds and tests. He was lethargic yesterday and dehydrated. They ran some tests and camelbacked him with fluids. Brought him home and he was comfortable. This morning the doctor called and said he is a very sick kitty. He has pancreatitis and diabetes but the latter could be secondary because of the inflammation in his pancreas. They are giving him insulin and other meds to help bring that under control. The biggest issue is that he does have an infection so he’ll be having a huge round of antibiotics.

He will be getting more tests and an ultrasound to rule out other things so I’m hoping it’s just the infection and the other two. All of those are manageable.

Send him good thoughts. We’ll go visit him tomorrow. He didn’t lose any weight from yesterday and he is drinking water and moving around. He does have some arthitis in his hip but he’s old so we’ll have to deal with that. The anti-inflammation drugs will help with that.

He’s been a very good kitty. Been poked, prodded, cold things stuck up his butt and now he’ll be shaved from stem to stern for tests. And all he does is purr and preen. The doctor is very shocked and amused he has no “flinch” reflex. She was concerned that he was blind and couldn’t see but no, he’s just Tam Kitteh. Most cats apparently have it when you approach their face. It’s an instinct to protect themselves.

Tam fears nothing. His world is rainbows, yogurt and scritches. What is there to fear? He has no clue about dangers in life. He has always been loved, protected and coddled.

To Tam, all strangers are friends he just hasn’t met yet. So, I’m hoping he comes home safe, sound and happy.
