Let’s end the year with the Four and Kismet. I needed to scrape 2021 off my psyche and head into the world with a fresh step. Heh. No cat litter puns intended but there we go.
So, you can find the page for the story here. Or download the PDF from here. Have a great New Year’s. Stay safe. Stay happy.
Recently I’ve been trying to get back into writing and doing okay at it. Slow going but the rust is coming off and it’s good to stretch the brain. So I’m having a decent amount of output but still slower than I like. I’ve discovered listening to Rob Zombie apparently helps so… there you go.
But in between the angst of scraping yet another word from my brain, I’ve been watching mini-spotlights on Japanese restaurants. The small diner kind of places that have been around for a long time. Very relaxing but also, inspiring. Well, inspiring to cook. Have a look. There are English captions on most of them and those would be helpful if you’re not familiar with Japanese food. Enjoy!
Now we’ve missed a bunch of Borks because the weather’s been too cold and too wet. There’s a certain temp point where we don’t let the old Potato go out because it’ll mess with his joints and well, the rain isn’t great for them to walk in. We don’t want to get Auntie Jessica sick! But today was a good day and when he came out for his morning tawdle, I got him dressed for his Bork (minus the mask and leash) and he sat by the door to whine a bit about the lack of Auntie.
Who appeared an hour later so I don’t know what he was complaining about.
He hadn’t seen her in a few weeks… a couple of weeks at least… and he was raring to go. I don’t know what he was complaining about to her but it was a bit of a scold because we DARED to speak to her before they left. Borking is serious business. Talking can wait until he comes back.
And when the Potato DID come back, he was over the moon happy, got undressed, cavorted, had some water, rolled around, and got belly scritches. So today has been a good Potato Day.
From his Auntie Jessica:
Gus had so much fun today! There were no dogs out but he did bark at a snoopy Christmas decoration! He’s so cute. I’ll see him soon!
Now I’m lucky enough to have access to all the foods I grew up with and fantastic ramen stuff but if you’re someplace that you don’t have that… this is a great grocery store hack.
Hello and welcome! Please introduce yourself to the reading community just in case this is the first time a reader is meeting you….
Hi Everyone! Thanks for having me Rhys. My name is Andi Lee, I come from the UK, and I like to write MM romance with HEAs!
I am well and truly owned by one tiny ferret with a huge personality called Oona (named after the fairy from Legend—love that film!) and I live in a town and have drank in a pub not too different from those in Risky Business.
Tell us a little bit about Risky Business and what spurred you to write it? I found my first ferret around 2005 in an alleyway on my way to work one day. I picked him up and took him home — I was late for work but everyone thought it was a great excuse to be late! Then I adopted many other ferrets over the years, but on my thirty-first birthday I found another ferret on a busy road (best birthday present ever!) I knew that I could turn these two experiences into a cute love story. When both characters turned up In Mischief Maker Ben was meant to be a background character, but I just loved him paired with Dane and I knew they had to be the next couple.
Join Andi Lee on the blog tour for her New Book, Risky Business! She’ll be answering questions (and so will her ferret) and there will be giveaways at several stops!
Veterinarian Dane Vincent is used to being unlucky in love. That’s why his crush on new friend Ben is No Big Deal. He’s more than happy to swoop to Ben’s rescue when he brings a ferret into his practice. It’s what friends do—and vets.
Ben Clifford came to Lockstone for a new job and a fresh start. He didn’t expect to make friends, never mind a tightknit group of them. They’re all wacky and wonderful, and he fits right in, something he’s never done before. They even support him when he finds a ferret at work and decides to keep the cute little bundle of joy.
There’s just one tiny problem. Ben’s house doesn’t allow pets.
Moving into Dane’s spare room is meant to be temporary, but the more time he spends with him, the less he wants to leave. They connect on a level he’s never experienced before, and slowly but surely, the feelings of friendship Ben has for Dane morph into something deeper.
The question is… does he have the courage to act on them?
Sadly, the Potato had to be forced to get dressed because it’s COLD and I wanna sleep was his plans for the morning. He sulked at us until the door opened and his precious Auntie Jessica appeared. After that, we were HORRIBLE monsters for keeping them apart and he was going to tell the world about how his mother DARED to hold him back from his borking.
My dog is a farting fat liar.
It’s raining a bit out apparently and he came home a bit damp. And smelling like a COW. I dunno what someone put on his lawn but he literally came home and I was all.. THAT is cow! COW!
So, some doggie deodorant was deployed and now he’s lying here, farting up cow-smelling gassy clouds because he just is that way. He did however come home VERY tired, probably a little bit sore from the cold but SO SO HAPPY! He does love his Jessica.
From his Auntie Jessica:
Gus looked so happy when I left! It started sprinkling a tiny bit on the walk but not bad at all. I’m sure Gus loved the water and the wet grass. He struggled to get up the stairs when we got back to the house. I think he was tired!
