And Now For Something Completely Different: Dave Navarro

I adore Dave. Seriously, he hits a lot of my buttons. *nods* Not ashamed to say it. Boy is gorgeous and funky and a bit intense.

And did I mention Gorgeous? You can tell he’s been through a lot and still… damned strong.

Kim Jaejoong: Mine

Okay not that I’m claiming him as Mine. That’s the song/album title but dude, if you want to get me a Jaejoong for my birthday or something, I wouldn’t say no.

I rather like this. It’s a departure from the group stuff he’s done. Very much sounding like JRock in a lot of places and of course, the whole Gothic imagery echoes are done very manga/manhwa style. Plus…shirtless Kim Jaejoong is always nice.

Dayum.

Here’s a link. Some peeps having trouble. https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=xQuGpW0NuW8

Most definitely inspired by a pinch of District 9 and a dash of Starcraft, Kaleb Lechowski’s short scifi film, R’ha places the viewer in the middle of a rather intense interrogation regarding an alien prisoner of war. The short is interesting for the fact that it mainly involves a conflict between alien races, with no humans in sight.

Now here’s the kicker: German director Kaleb Lechowski is only 22 years old, and created this short over the course of 7 months on his own time.

Tonight’s Dinner: Pork Adobo

So tonight we swing down to the Phillipines for dinner. I like a dry adobo, marinating the meat in the vinegar, garlic and spices. Here’s a wiki link if you want the breakdown. This isn’t to be confused with the Spanish adobo, a whole different kettle of food.

Tonight it’s over rice… well yeah, of course and wee little mushrooms sauteed in garlic and butter. I could have tossed the mushrooms in oyster sauce but I think that would have been too strong of a taste and fight with the clean vinegar of the adobo. Also, garlic and butter and mushrooms. ‘Nuff said.

Writing… still… again.

Following the death of my main laptop, I’ve migrated over to the backup which is a nice machine. Good keyboard action. I actually prefer the keyboard on this one to the old one but there is a memory fail on this one if the chips get too hot that is a design flaw. Nothing too serious just one of those things that piss me off. Also, I can’t get the text size on this resolution setting to be what I really like it to be at but that’s a small thing in the scheme of things.

No, the biggest issues seems to be my brain refusing to kill people. Oh I’m taking the time to slaughter a few as I go but really, how far can I push it without it become a serial killer spree? Ah, how that does warm the cockles of the heart.

Not sure why the heart has cockles. Oh sure, the cockles and the heart are bivalves and cockles do open up when heated… so there you have it. Cockles.

I am not a big mollusk fan. So…. yeah, warm away.

For some stupid reason, I have Diana Ross’ I’m Coming Out stuck in my head. I have not heard it someplace…it wasn’t used in a commercial… nothing. It just floated up to the surface of my brain for some reason. Damn fricking brain.

Whatcha all up too?

It’s Ded, Jim…

So the Grim Reaper came for my hard drive today. My laptop began to make the death rattle of a dying hard drive and I said… Lo unto the Lord, this is a shitty time to be doing this.

Fighting with the back up drive was successful. We have about seven computers in the house and a number of readers and tablets. Only one TV but two or three coffeemakers. Priorities you know.

Everything’s backed up that’s important but damn, it’s just a sucky thing. Laptop was like six months old. *sighs* Skipped the needle across the platform, probably.

I’ll need to find someone to swap out the drive and mirror what I’ve got.

Japchae and Bibimbap

I’ve mentioned both of these dishes in the Dirty Series. For all of those who wonder what they are, here’s Rino eating Japchae and Hot Pot bibimbap. They’re Japanese and her mom cooks her culturally diverse dishes to try. Check out the whole series.

She eats natto. Pretty hardcore kid there.
