Badger joined our household a couple of years and well, he was a handful. Found on the street with a serious back and leg wound, he didn’t like to be touched and had opinions about how he wanted to interact. He played too rough with Harley and someone at some point taught him that jumping at someone’s face was a good idea.

That was quickly discouraged and he settled into the household, still with his opinions and an attitude. He was a young, large not-quite-cat who needed to be taught that being loved was okay.

And he has learned that. Over the past few months, he’s turned into a very snuggly yet demanding cat who loves scritches and will paw at you if he wants attention. He enjoys going out into his catio so he can sit in the fresh air and watch birds as well as finding a lot of joy and delight in chasing his youngest sister, Goji around. Since Goji joined the household, he’s had a playmate who plays as rough as he does since Harley is a bit of a delicate thug. Harley likes playing but after a little bit, she’d rather go snuggle up to the dog or get her belly rub.

The Toxic Twins, however, rough-house about until I’m sure the walls are shaking.

He still only eats dry food but he’s settled in. And he knows he’s home. That’s always the best feeling… when the cat you bring in from the kind of shitty outside realizes he is loved and that he has a very significant place in your world.

Summer is here in San Diego and well, I wasn’t ready for it. We’ve gotten the backyard kind of summer ready with an above ground pool, patio furniture, rainbow lights and as alway, there’s a little blond Potato cairn terrorist more than happy to roll around in the sun.

I’ve returned to working the day job in the building today and it’s rather surreal. I don’t think I can even type on this keyboard anymore. I’m so used to my laptop. 😀 We’re all still distancing and wearing masks when leaving our offices but the majority of us are in place for a few days a week. It’s all rather strange.

If you haven’t noticed, I’m a big Marvel fan… well mostly the secondary characters like Bucky and Loki so I’m very excited about the Loki series. Watched the first one and man, I’m ready for the rest of it. CANNOT WAIT>

I’m going to try to stop in more and chat. Just to keep things going and well, fire up my brains and the words / characters I’ve got brewing. Very exciting.

Got the Pfzier shot… well the first one this week and all in all, it’s going okay except for the aching muscles and headache. I’ll get the second in a few weeks and then I’ll.. still be wearing a mask in public until everyone gets their shot and the numbers go down. Because that’s the responsible thing to do.

Now… I DO have some news regarding audiobooks.

Kale Williams will be doing ‘Nother Sip of Gin and also taking over the 415 Ink series. Schedules and pandemic and a whole slew of things just were working against getting Tristan back in but after much debate and consideration, I knew Kale was the only one I could hear bring it home. I’ve heard the first story in the anthology as well as a bit of snippets of the Morgans and I can say Kale has delivered. And I am quite proud of him for stepping up and very pleased and humbled he chose to do so.

I HAVE taken a bit of a hiatus from writing in order to steady myself. I’ve lost the love of writing for nearly half a year what with everything going on at home and my sister, Jenn’s passing. I spent a few weeks arting and feel ready to crash back in.

With all of that being said, I think I’m ready to announce the next thing to come off my keyboard as a Connor and Forest short novel. It is yet untitled but as you know, we’ll be looking for a booze reference so save up all your puns. We’ll be going in for a shot or two after this is all said and done.

After that I owe Luke, the next Chinatown Demons, Murder 3, McGinnis 2, and Beast… oh and Kai. So, I’m hoping I am centred and ready to word.
