I’ve never been all that fond of Korean food, except for kimchee — which I love. But I’m sure I just haven’t eaten enough Korean dishes to have an informed opinion.

What do kimchee pancakes taste like? And what about the tofu japchae? I’m a huge fan of Thai and Szechuan, so spiciness isn’t an issue.

    1. God I love Korean food. Really.

Kimchee pancakes when made right are fantastic. I also make kimchee dip which is lovely. Mince kimchee and blend with cream cheese. Add enough of the liquid to smooth it out to something that will be soft enough to get on a dip. Let that sit for a couple of hours so the kimchee flavour works into the cream cheese.

Then go find a quiet spot, a bag of chips and gorge 😀

I also mince kimchee into tuna sandwiches 😀

Japchae is… noodles, with veggies, shoyu and sesame. and meat or tofu 😀

I often put chowchow (Southern hot relish — sort of the Southern version of kimchee, but not nearly as hot) into tuna salad, so I’ll have to try kimchee that way. 🙂

What do the kimchee pancakes have in them beside kimchee? Are they made with regular pancake mix, potato pancake, or what? I may have to try those too. 🙂
