To answer the couple of questions about The Devil’s Brew….

It will be out on May 21, 2014 from Dreamspinner Press.

It is a Miki and Kane story about Miki’s take on Valentine’s Day.

It is a novella and happens BEFORE Tequila Mockingbird.

Tequila Mockingbird will be out the following month. Events in The Devil’s Brew do lead into events in Tequila.

Miki and Kane will probably be getting their own novel after the Sinners series ends because Miki’s got issues. Issues he needs to deal with.

So this happened today….

TJ writes: In less than 12 hours, you all have raised an additional $12,000 for Eric. I don’t care how much it was any one person donated, whether it was a single dollar or more, trust me when I say it has helped immensely. I can only say thank you again, and it feels so small in the face of such generosity. But thank you.

Our case manager has worked out a deal with the medical transport company who are giving us a significant discount for a medical flight for Eric. Normal something like this would cost tens of thousands of dollars, but she went to bat for us and it was reduced to around eight thousand. Once we confirm the new facility will take Eric in, he will be moved, and it should happen rather quickly. Not ready to say where quite yet in case it falls through and we have to go a different route. But because of you, Eric’s chances of regaining his health have increased exponentially. When we make it through this, it will because you all helped bring him back to me.

Tj Klune updated his status: “I’m at home again for a few days. I’m working Mon, Tues, and Wed now, spending the rest of the week in Richmond. I try to use this time to sleep as much as possible, but it can be hard at times.

After I posted the picture yesterday, Eric woke up and was more alert and awake than he’s ever been. If it wasn’t for the fact of the traech tube in his throat and him having to mouth his words, it would have been almost normal. We got to talk, and actually have a clear and concise conversation. He knows the work ahead, and that it’s not going to be easy. We set goals for him. He wants to be out of the respiratory hospital by February first. He wants to be out of the rehab hospital by March 7th. Realistic? Maybe. Maybe not. I don’t know what’s going to happen. But after we set those dates, he looked at me and said “I can do it.”

I said, “I know you can.”

Then he said, “I need you to have faith in me.”

I told him I do. Completely. “Because of November 8th.”

That’s the other date we’re working toward. That’s the day we’re getting married.

So, we have a plan. Now we just have to do it.
