So… life’s a bit twisted about and my deadlines are chasing me. I’ve got a book due on Sept 15th and well, I’m hacking at words to hit that deadline.

No, there’s no moving deadlines.

Nothing I was writing was hitting. Like nothing. There’s a certain feeling you get when you start writing a book and it begins to lay down but that wasn’t coming. So I had to shift gears…

And try something completely different.

I don’t know where this is going. Hell, I don’t even have a title. It might not make any fricking sense but screw it… Sept 15th and I’m over the halfway mark with only a little bit of plotting screwed down and ready to go.

So… do you trust me?

I do want to see this. Of course I’ll have to wait for English Subtitles but it looks well done and from what I hear, a bit “X-Men / Avengers” but really, how can that be a bad thing? It’ll be interesting to see the different take and perspective of a Superhero movie from a cultural / social standpoint I have very little anchor in. This kind of thing fascinates me. It’s one of the major reasons I love watching foreign action films is because of how the world is portrayed from that cultural viewpoint and what a director brings to the table.

I am by nature, kinda grumpy.

Like wet cat grumpy. I admit it. I try not to be but for the most part, I like to stew in my own head and mutter dark, foul things at my thoughts. It works for me. I try not to inflict that on others.

But some days… you just cannot fight the wet, grumpy cat inside of you.

Yesterday evening, the nasty hellspawn of a wet cat reared its sopping, disgruntled head and made itself known.

And I still kind of hellspawn pissy at the moment. There are some reasons for it, minor ones and usually I can let those go but apparently, not today. I MIGHT just need more coffee. Or I have a disgruntlement going. That happens too. And I just have to let it seep out and go away.

What about you? Whatcha do to get rid of the grumps?

I got an email last night informing me Black Dog Blues will be published in Korean. I don’t know the timeline of when but it will be in eBook format and well, in hangul.

I’ve got other books translated into other languages and it’s overwhelming, really because it’s kind of never something I’d imagined would happen.

Especially not when I was 12 years old in Waianae, hammering away on an old Royal manual typewriter and trying to ignore people telling me I was an idiot to think I’d ever actually write a book.

As hard as it is to ignore people who try to make you less than you are, try. Please. Just push forward. And I’m the pot calling the kettle black here because I do it too. But we have to soldier on.

It’s been an odd, long journey. And my first serious push into writing something in book form was driven by an exploration into the Korean culture. So there we go, full circle.

I’m excited to announce Kai will also be in French as are Rook and Dante and well, the Sinners Boys. Cole is in Italian and the Hellsinger crew are in German. And… I can’t keep track. Heh. I wonder if I can convince Greg to become fluent in Italian so he can do audiobooks in it. *grins*

There’s a lot of discussion to be had about when a book cover and blurb should be revealed.

Truthfully, there’s no hard and fast rule. I normally debate if I should do it before or after the book right before it goes out.

This time, I’m kind of going… heh, what the hell… let’s just get it out there so I can move on to the next item on my checklist.
