Sloe Ride Release Date!

Coming… Sept 4, 2015 from Dreamspinner Press.

Sloe RideSloe Ride
It isn’t easy being a Morgan. Especially when dead bodies start piling up and there’s not a damned thing you can do about it.

Quinn Morgan never quite fit into the family mold. He dreamed of a life with books instead of badges and knowledge instead of law—and a life with Rafe Andrade, his older brothers’ bad boy friend and the man who broke his very young heart.

Rafe Andrade returned home to lick his wounds following his ejection from the band he helped form. A recovering drug addict, Rafe spends his time wallowing in guilt, until he finds himself faced with his original addiction, Quinn Morgan—the reason he fled the city in the first place.

When Rafe hears the Sinners are looking for a bassist, it’s a chance to redeem himself, but as a crazed murderer draws closer to Quinn, Rafe’s willing to sacrifice everything—including himself—to keep his quixotic Morgan safe and sound.

Charity Drive and Become a Character in the FINAL Dirty book in the series!

SOPHIE’S FUND ENDS NEXT FRIDAY! Last week to donate or share the link to be entered in the Charity Drive to become a Dirty Character! We’re continuing to add funds as a “just in case” contingency!

As many of you know, I’ll be starting the FINAL Cole McGinnis book soon. I wanted to do a small charity run for it. Something we can max out in a short amount of time. And here is Sophie.

She needs a bit of help, this dear sweet old girl. I’ve donated $100 for Sophie’s care. She needs about $650. If you donate or pass the link on, please leave a comment here or on the site and you can possibly become a character in the last book in the Dirty series.

Be sure to mention my name so I know you want to be entered!

Sophie is Fifteen-year-old beagle/corgi cross seems determined to take years off her owner’s life. She’s had some health problems off and on for a few years now (including Cushing’s) which they’ve endeavored to stay on top of. Unfortunately, despite a positive checkup from the vet last Friday, early on Monday she came down with sudden onset acute diarrhea/vomiting/loss of appetite.

Q&A with Joe Cosentino, author of Drama Queen

Q&A with Joe Cosentino, author of Drama Queen, the first Nicky and Noah mystery/comedy/romance novel published by Lethe Press

Hello, Joe. Thank you for stopping by to chat with me today.

My pleasure. I’m a big fan of yours!

You visited me during your blog tour of AN INFATUATION. What has been the response to your MM novella?

Since An Infatuation is a Bittersweet Dreams novella from Dreamspinner Press, readers were prepared to cry, however, what shocked them was how hysterically funny it is, and how the characters are so lovable. So many people told me they loved An Infatuation, and many begged me for a sequel.

Is a sequel in the offing?

Not a sequel, however, Dreamspinner Press is publishing another Bittersweet Dreams novella of mine entitled, A Shooting Star, this fall. It also has a riveting story, captivating characters, lots of humor, and a tragic incident. Also, two minor characters in An Infatuation play major roles in the novel I am writing now, Cozzi Cove: Bouncing Back.

How did you come up with the Nicky and Noah mystery comedy series?

I am a college theatre professor and department head. I was thinking how a college, especially a theatre department, is its own little community full of intrigue, mystery, humor, surprises, and romance. I was also thinking how a theatre professor has many skills, such as playing other people, and would make a perfect sleuth. What if the top suspect for the murder was also a college theatre professor, and the heartthrob of the sleuth? A new series was born!

How did Lethe Press come to publish Drama Queen, the first Nicky and Noah mystery comedy?

I noticed Lethe Press publishes many humorous, theatrically-styled gay books, and the company has been successful for fourteen years. After I submitted the manuscript, Steve Berman offered to publish it, saying he had great fun reading it.

Why did you write a gay mystery/comedy/romance series?

Can’t we all use a good laugh, a challenging brain twister, and a bit of romance? Drama Queen is the kind of book I like reading. It is funny, theatrical, sexy, wild, and wacky with a solid mystery full of plot twists and turns at its center.

How do you think up all the clues, red herrings, and surprises in the novel?

I’ve read every Agatha Christie novel and play many times. She is a genius at outlining when and where to give the reader what information. I love the inversion in her books, where she uses sleight of hand to lay out all the information, but not in a straight forward manner. The reader becomes the sleuth to put all the pieces of the puzzle together. I tried to do the same in this series.

Since you are a college theatre professor, is the series based on you, your colleagues, and students?

Do you mean if anybody at my college ticks me off, I kill him/her in the series? Hah. To be honest, I like my colleagues and students too much to murder them in my books. Martin Anderson, Nicky and Noah’s department head, is based on me. He’s a loyal, hardworking department head and professor who fully supports his faculty colleagues, office assistant, and the students in his department. Like me, he is also a little bit, well quite a bit, of a gossip. My knowledge of theatre is also very evident in the series. The other characters and the location came from my head.

Nicky is described as having an enormous manhood. Does that help him solve the murders?

It doesn’t hurt. Hah. Nicky has to flirt his way into some places to get certain information, so his handsome face, muscular body, and huge penis are definitely assets. Even more, however, Nicky and Noah use their theatre skills, including playing other people, to get clues. Most of all, Nicky uses his smarts, always a fine asset in an amateur detective.

Nicky is of Italian-American descent, like you. Is that a coincidence?

Not at all. I come from a very funny Italian family. I use that in a great deal of my writing. In later books, we get to meet Nicky and Noah’s parents, and they are a riot!

How many books have your written so far in this series?

Three: Drama Queen, Drama Muscle, and Drama Cruise. In Drama Queen, Nicky and Noah have to uncover why college theatre professors are dropping like stage curtains while Nicky directs the college play production—a murder mystery. In Drama Muscle, Nicky and Noah have to find out why musclemen are dropping like weights in the Physical Education department while Nicky directs the Student Bodybuilding Competition. In Drama Cruise, Nicky and Noah go on a cruise to Alaska, and discover why college theatre professors are going overboard like lifeboats while Nicky directs a murder mystery dinner theatre show onboard ship. As the readers join Nicky and Noah in solving the murders, Nicky and Noah fall in love with one another, and the readers hopefully fall in love with Nicky and Noah.

Is Drama Queen available as an ebook and paperbook?

Yes! I am thrilled about that. This gives the reader an option to read it on a Kindle, Nook, computer, or with book in hand on the beach or in bed. The audiobook will be available in about a month.

Do you see this as a TV series?

Yes! And I want to play Martin Anderson. Couldn’t you see Matt Bomer as Nicky and Neil Patrick Harris as Noah? This will give The Hardy Boysand Hart to Harta run for their money.

How can your readers get their hands on Drama Queen, and how can they contact you?

The purchase links for Drama Queen are below, as are my contact links, including my web site. I love to hear from readers!
