Day 2. And there’s sourdough bread.
Ah… Home.
I am back home and trying to catch up on everything I’ve let slide a bit. And well some things that I’ve been working on since forever it seems.
1. Hanging the Stars Blog Posts
I’m doing a seven stop blog tour. A short one because I’m kind of to the wall with a deadline…more on that later. But it will be a Christmas thingie with Deacon, Lang, Zig, West and a few other people from the Half Moon Bay series. Maybe a cat will make an appearance. BUT there is unique content on each blog stop so please stop by each to read. There’s also gift certificates to give away. On each stop. Have to enter to win. So stop by and enter as well. Because gift certificates can also go to someone else’s holiday present or… you can save them up to get that gold-plated snorklewhacker you’ve always wanted.
2. Dim Sum Asylum
The project I’m hammering at. This one is oddly harder to work on because I’m having to disassemble what I’ve written and fill in the blanks I’m creating. It’s an odd exercise in brainwork. I don’t recommend writing this way. But then some people do. I’m more linear. Point A to Chalk Line.
3. There’s This Guy
I’ve talked a bit about this contemporary I’ve written. Contemporary has to be used loosely here. I’ve gotten this feedback…
- This is the sweetest thing you’ve ever written.
- It’s sweet for…you.
- Really? A dead body? You just had to.
Take that as you will. The blurb is final and I’ll probably drop the information on this shortly. Mostly figuring out when and where I’m going on the next couple of weeks. It’s been insane.
4. I still haven’t seen Dr. Strange but I HAVE seen Fantastic Beasts. I am not a Potterhead but I know quite a few and support their fandom. I’m not so sure about my Benedict Cumberbatch name though.
Announcing the 2016 Neko Winners and All Entries
I want to thank everyone who submitted a photo! We got some great entries and some great non-entries. *grins* I’ve compiled them all into one gallery so everyone can see them (they are all mingled together).
And the winners are:
Most Creative $100 (voted on by a group of random people): Saxon Hawke

Random Number Generator Winners:
$100: JoJo Approximately

$50: Melnya Drache, Tina Miz and Jenn Dease (we had a number glitch so I counted all three)

Here is the Gallery of Neko photos. Thank you all again! Continue reading “Announcing the 2016 Neko Winners and All Entries”

Brains Have Leaked Out. Neko Photos and Winners TBA on Nov 20
Actually I think the title kind of says it all. My brains are gone. I’m writing blog posts for the Hanging The Stars blog tour and I’m in England. I also forgot to put a hoodie on when I went to the guest laundry which is by the barn at the Cottages. It’s a bit cold and wet.
So…. yeah. Way too early for an ice bath.
I’ve got all of the Neko pix I believe. I’ll be sorting through the 40 or so entries I got and select one for most creative. Which is gonna be kind of hard. I might have the Five do it. Because that way it’s impartial.
Time for coffee and more blog posts.

Hanging The Stars
Angel Daniels grew up hard, one step ahead of the law and always looking over his shoulder. A grifter’s son, he’d learned every con and trick in the book but ached for a normal life. Once out on his own, Angel returns to Half Moon Bay where he once found… and then lost… love.
Now, Angel’s life is a frantic mess of schedules and chaos. Between running his bakery and raising his troubled eleven-year-old half brother, Roman, Angel has a hectic but happy life. Then West Harris returns to Half Moon Bay and threatens to break Angel all over again by taking away the only home he and Rome ever had.
When they were young, Angel taught West how to love and laugh, but when Angel moved on, West locked his heart up and threw away the key. Older and hardened, West returns to Half Moon Bay and finds himself face-to-face with the man he’d lost. Now West is torn between killing Angel or holding him tight.
But rekindling their passionate relationship is jeopardized as someone wants one or both of them dead, and as the terrifying danger mounts, neither man knows if the menace will bring them together or forever tear them apart.

Don’t Forget To Breathe.
I’m not going to tell you how to think. I’m not going to tell you how to feel.
What I am going to say is to not forget the person standing next to you. They may need help. They may need a hug. They may need some time.
I get that. I do. You may even be that person. If so, please stand closer so we can stand with you.
I also say we need to remember what we’ve been fighting for all these years. A society we can all feel good about. A place for everyone. A place where everyone gets an education and healthcare. Where they can love who they want to, regardless of gender or race. Where they are reaching for the stars and can actually grasp one.
We will be there to build that society. We have to be. I don’t have children but perhaps you do. I will be here to help build that society for your children. I don’t have grandparents but perhaps you do. I will be here to fight for their continued health. I am not gay but you are. I will battle for your rights.
I will try to be sympathetic and listen to the hurts others are experiencing and in turn, I hope they hear me.
That is what I have. Hope and a Commitment to you. I will stand with you as I will stand for you. It’s what I can offer to you now. That promise. *hugs*
