I want to give a HUGE shout out to Michael Oblowitz of Minus Zero Films (Michael Oblowitz) who I met at the HYDE concert in LA. He’s got a fantastic film coming out on June 13th, a special one night release thru Fathom Events. Go see it! It’s about Nathan Fletcher and the complicated relationship surfers have with the ocean and its power.

It was fantastic to meet and talk with Michael not only about his work but also about Japanese Rock which he’d come to experience for the first time. And a great choice for a first time…. Hyde. Great conversation and incredible to end up talking to someone who surfs down at Makaha, not far from where I lived for a few years as a kid. Great perspective from an interesting guy and having met him, I can totally see how he’d deliver an honest, raw account of someone’s journey.
