Surgery, Words, New Book, Snoring Dog

To give a quick update… I’ve been both busy and distracted.

This past week has been a rollercoaster of pain, red tape and a few fantastic people who made it possible for me to get in to see dentists and specialists because I had a tooth break, got an infection and all the holy hell that goes with that. Like I chipmunked in a couple of days. So on antibiotics and then surgery coming up on Weds.

Sadly, it’s very painful and a bitch to even think past… is that my car over there in the parking space? They gave me pain meds but those have to be spaced out. And oddly enough, isn’t touching a damned thing this morning. So… there’s that.

STILL…. Once Upon A Wolf is coming out on the 16th! And there’s going to be a short blog tour for the short, sweet shifter book. Yes, sweet. I swear to God… it’s sweet. 😀 The stories will all interconnect with one another and I hope to string them together into a paperback at some point.

Once Upon A Wolf by Rhys Ford
February 16, 2018 • Published by Dreamspinner Press

Once Upon A Time, There Was A Wolf….

Gibson Keller’s days are fairly routine: wake up early, get some work done, drink lots of coffee, and take care of Ellis, his older brother stuck in wolf form after coming home from the war. It’s a simple life made up of long runs on two legs—or four—and quiet evenings…. Until Ellis chases a handsome man off a cliff and into the frozen waters beside their cabin, changing Gibson’s life forever.

For Zach Thomas, buying an old B&B is a new start. Leaving behind his city life, he longs to find peace and quiet, and hiking the trails behind his property seems safe enough—right up to the moment an enormous black wolf chases him into a lake, nearly drowning him. Discovering werewolves are real astounds him, but not as much as the man who rescues him from the icy water then walks into Zach’s heart as if he owns it.

Loving a werewolf—loving Gibson with all his secrets—has its challenges but Zach believes their love is worth fighting for, especially since his heart knows the big bad wolf is really a prince in disguise.

Oh…and the snoring dog? He’s on the couch because the cat refuses to share the dog bed. It’s his dog bed. He stood by it and looked up at me, beseechingly. She could give no fucks. So… I told him he could crash on the couch next to me.

Now he’s snoring.

OMG, so sorry to hear about your tooth. Keep taking the pain meds regularly so you build up constant level in your bloodstream, and let your doc know if they aren’t helping enough! No one should suffer what can be helped.

Have had Wolf on pre-order for weeks, can’t wait! I’ve so enjoyed the many worlds you write about. Hope you have a chance to return to SF Chinatown of Dim Sum Asylum one day.

    Get well soon,

    Mary Pat

    1. Hugs. The tooth is… oh god so painful 😀

And I’ll be going into surgery on Weds so right now it’s fighting the infection and pain management. 😀 And coffee 😀 LOTS of soup 😀
