I had to DNF a book.

I did not do it lightly. I fought for this book. I went to nearly 80% in. I battled for the characters, searching for something to hold onto.

And I sadly could not do it.

I mourn the book I wanted it to be.

But I also know not every book is for everyone. And that’s okay. I didn’t return it for a refund. I’m not going to leave a bad review. It’s just not a book for my palate.

And that’s really okay. I still want the author to be successful. That’s key. I want them to write. Write all the books. Feed the people who love their worlds and characters. There are many many books out there and while not all of them are for me, quite a few are.

And I’ll celebrate their authors as well.
