Sinners Series

Sinner’s Gin
There’s a dead man in Miki St. John’s vintage Pontiac GTO, and he has no idea how it got there.

After Miki survives the tragic accident that killed his best friend and the other members of their band, Sinner’s Gin, all he wants is to hide from the world in the refurbished warehouse he bought before their last tour. But when the man who sexually abused him as a boy is killed and his remains are dumped in Miki’s car, Miki fears Death isn’t done with him yet.

Kane Morgan, the SFPD inspector renting space in the art co-op next door, initially suspects Miki had a hand in the man’s murder, but Kane soon realizes Miki is as much a victim as the man splattered inside the GTO. As the murderer’s body count rises, the attraction between Miki and Kane heats up. Neither man knows if they can make a relationship work, but despite Miki’s emotional damage, Kane is determined to teach him how to love and be loved — provided, of course, Kane can catch the killer before Miki becomes the murderer’s final victim.

He was dead. And it was murder most foul. If erasing a man’s existence could even be called murder.

When Damien Mitchell wakes, he finds himself without a life or a name. The Montana asylum’s doctors tell him he’s delusional and his memories are all lies: he’s really Stephen Thompson, and he’d gone over the edge, obsessing about a rock star who died in a fiery crash. His chance to escape back to his own life comes when his prison burns, but a gunman is waiting for him, determined that neither Stephen Thompson nor Damien Mitchell will escape.

With the assassin on his tail, Damien flees to the City by the Bay, but keeping a low profile is the only way he’ll survive as he searches San Francisco for his best friend, Miki St. John. Falling back on what kept him fed before he made it big, Damien sings for his supper outside Finnegan’s, an Irish pub on the pier, and he soon falls in with the owner, Sionn Murphy. Damien doesn’t need a complication like Sionn, and to make matters worse, the gunman—who doesn’t mind going through Sionn or anyone else if that’s what it takes kill Damien—shows up to finish what he started.

Tequila Mockingbird Cover_Rhys Ford_finalTequila Mockingbird • Third in the Sinners Series
Lieutenant Connor Morgan of SFPD’s SWAT division wasn’t looking for love. Especially not in a man. His life plan didn’t include one Forest Ackerman, a brown-eyed, blond drummer who’s as sexy as he is trouble. His family depends on him to be like his father, a solid pillar of strength who’ll one day lead the Morgan clan.

No, Connor has everything worked out—a career in law enforcement, a nice house, and a family. Instead, he finds a murdered man while on a drug raid and loses his heart comforting the man’s adopted son. It wasn’t like he’d never thought about men — it’s just loving one doesn’t fit into his plans.

Forest Ackerman certainly doesn’t need to be lusting after a straight cop, even if Connor Morgan is everywhere he looks, especially after Frank’s death. He’s just talked himself out of lusting for the brawny cop when his coffee shop becomes a war zone and Connor Morgan steps in to save him.

Whoever killed his father seems intent on Forest joining him in the afterlife. As the killer moves closer to achieving his goal, Forest tangles with Connor Morgan and is left wondering what he’ll lose first—his life or his heart.

Sloe RideSloe Ride • Fourth in the Sinners Series
It isn’t easy being a Morgan.  Especially when dead bodies start piling up and there’s not a damned thing you can do about it.

Quinn Morgan never quite fit into the family mold. He dreamed of a life with books instead of badges and knowledge instead of law—and a life with Rafe Andrade, his older brothers’ bad boy friend and the man who broke his very young heart.

Rafe Andrade returned home to lick his wounds following his ejection from the band he helped form. A recovering drug addict, Rafe spends his time wallowing in guilt, until he finds himself faced with his original addiction, Quinn Morgan—the reason he fled the city in the first place.

When Rafe hears the Sinners are looking for a bassist, it’s a chance to redeem himself, but as a crazed murderer draws closer to Quinn, Rafe’s willing to sacrifice everything—including himself—to keep his quixotic Morgan safe and sound.

We’re getting the band back together.

Those five words send a chill down Miki St. John’s spine, especially when they’re spoken with a nearly religious fervor by his brother-in-all-but-blood, Damien Mitchell. However, those words were nothing compared to what Damien says next.

And we’re going on tour.

When Crossroads Gin hits the road, Damien hopes it will draw them closer together. There’s something magical about being on tour, especially when traveling in a van with no roadies, managers, or lovers to act as a buffer. The band is already close, but Damien knows they can be more—brothers of sorts, bound not only by familial ties but by their intense love for music.

As they travel from gig to gig, the band is haunted by past mistakes and personal demons, but they forge on. For Miki, Damie, Forest, and Rafe, the stage is where they all truly come alive, and the music they play is as important to them as the air they breathe.

But those demons and troubles won’t leave them alone, and with every mile under their belts, the band faces its greatest challenge—overcoming their deepest flaws and not killing one another along the way.

Will every book in this series be about Miki and Kane, or will there be different couples in each book?

    1. The entire series is about building back up the band. The first book is Miki and Kane…. and the others will have Miki and Kane in them. They’ll all be connected closely but it’s pretty much only going to be four books. *grins*

  2. Great cover and blurb! Is it December yet??? I have gotta have this book and series…..Wow!!! I will be on pins and needles ’til this is in my hot lil’ hands….or my hot lil’ Nook….hahahahahahahahahaha

Congrats on some great books Rhys and FANtastic covers….

    1. Heh…. soooooon. Promise. It’ll be in a few weeks. I’ll post the release date as soon as we go final. I am looking forward to what people say about this one. Kinda exciting 😀

  3. Nemo

Woah! I bought and loved all the Cole McGinnis Series. I can’t wait for this one as well. Is it still published with DSP?

    1. Yep. The whole series sits with Dreamspinner right now. As far as I know *grins* They’ve got first crack. It’ll be out some time in December. As soon as it’s up for preorder, I’ll announce it on the blog. 😀

  4. Angel

Oh my hell. Just finished reading Sinners Gin, and you have once again blown me away. Thank you for sharing your talent. Hate you for leaving it there though. When will the next one be out? Please tell me it will be Tomorrow!!! Merry Christmas!

    1. Hello and hugs! I am alternating between the two series…however, Dirty Laundry is put into the queue already and I’m working on Whiskey & Wry. The other character was giving me a bit of a trouble nailing down but all in all, I had something hit me yesterday and well, untangled all of the crap I couldn’t get straight. So… off we go! Heh.

I’m glad you liked Miki and Kane. *crosses fingers* The rest of the series will be a fun ride. Oh…. hope you like the other couples. *winks*

  5. chrysalis1975

I echo Angel…now that I’ve read the first one, I cannot wait for the next installment!!! Any projected date(s) of release for editing/publication? I’ll just read Sinner’s Gin over & over until the next book comes out, LOL 🙂

    Merry Christmas!!

    Tame

    1. Now that I’ve got the other character nailed down as far as who he is, I can go forward. I’ve literally started and restarted W&W five times… and finding it didn’t gel. Same thing happened with SG so that’s not a worry. Kane was a bit of a struggle to get to. I should post about that bit of pain in the ass at some point 😀

SO glad you liked it! Heh… I was worried about them. Thank you!

  6. you’ re only writng four books in the Sinner’s gin series? Noooo! there’s like six Morgan brothers and most of them are cops now thats Hot!. Can you please write about all of them. the family is so silly and fun to read, you can do so much with these brothers!

    1. Heh… Sorry… you only get a few gay Morgans. *grins* But I promise the next guy…who isn’t a Morgan… will still be kind of hot. *winks* But there will be Morgans. PROMISE!

  7. Jo

I just read Sinner’s Gin and LOVED it!! I haven’t been this excited about a new m/m series in a long time! The excerpt has me wishing the book was out now!! Don’t want to post a spoiler, so I’ll just say I can’t wait for the fallout of this reveal to become reality!! 🙂

    1. *grins* Thank you baby! Really I am so glad you liked it! *CHEERS*

Ah, the next book was giving me fits and starts but I’ve got it going now. Shouldn’t be long… well till I’m hammering at it and hating it. Dunno when it’ll be out but it should be on the heels of Dirty Laundry. 😀

  8. Julie

Love all of your books. I am looking foreward to the next one in the Sinner’s Gin series. The teaser at the end left me panting for more.

    1. Heh…. I am working on Whiskey & Wry right now. I wrote Dirty Laundry after Sinner’s Gin…I’m alternating between the series. *grins* I’m glad you liked it! *cheers*

  9. Kendra

I really liked the start of this series. I was SOO hoping that what you did at the end would happen in some form cause, dude, Miki needs to know he is loved and worth being seen and known. I had to read it again just to make sure I hadn’t just imagined what I wanted to read. 🙂

    1. Oh yes… what happened at the end… is the beginning of the next book *winks* Sooooooooo…. yeah. *grins*

I’m glad you liked it! You’ve met three of the main characters for the following books in Sinner’s Gin. I’ve already started W&W. It’s giving me spasms but it is on its way!

  10. I loved it. it’s my first time reading m/m that wasn’t in manga form and I really liked it. also as a jrock fan loved how you slipped in L`Arc and Hyde as well as X lol. the ending was nice to I had a feeling through out the book that Damien was still alive but thought it was my own imagination adding to the story xD . I also was kind of secretly hooking Damien up with Quinn lol. can’t wait for the sequel! also I’m with mini Brigid scares me lol.

    1. Heh. Thank you! Ah, BIG Hyde fan. LOVE him in concert…and when he’s with VAMPS, it’s just a fantastic time. XJapan is always fun *grins*

Quinn will be around but not with D. Heh. I’ve got to get HIM back to SF.

Brigid can be terrifying. We’ll see a LOT more of her. *winks*

      Thanks again.

  11. I absolutely loved Sinner’s Gin, well written, and had me gasping in parts, not only due to the intimacy. What devils those men were… and the ending omg I as thinking whats this about….. and now my interest is piqued. Thanks for a great book.

    1. Oh thank you! *grins* I’m glad you liked the boys. They were a pain in the ass and still fun to write. *laughs* The second one is coming along. Promise 😀 Thank yoU!

  12. Mary G

Wow! Just finished Sinner’s Gin – my first Rhys Ford book. It was amazing & hot. Love these 2 guys & the secondary characters. Just wow!

    1. *grins* Wow, thank you! Seriously… I am so happy you liked Miki and Kane. *grins* Stay tuned for Whiskey and Wry. Those two are giving me fits like M&K did. Bastiges. But yes, thank you. From a very grateful author.

  13. Mary G

And that teaser ending! You’re killing me here! But in a good way! Lol. I’ve read a lot of m/m & this was actually breathtaking! So raw, gritty good yet so mushy too. I’ll try & post a review at Amazon as soon as my brain cells are rearranged back to normal lol.

    1. Ah, that ending is coming to bite me in the ASS as I write the second book. *grins* Remind me to NEVER do that again. *coffsLIEScoffs*

I’m really happy you liked it *grins*

  14. I have to say Sinner’s Gin was the book of yours that I read, but I am hooked on the series now. I can’t wait to read the sequel!!!!! I won’t rush you because I truly want your best work, but ……. will it be soon? I can’t get enough of these characters and I can’t wait to see the outcome of the ending of Sinner’s Gin.

    1. Heh… ah, The Sinners Books will be alternating with my other series, Cole McGinnis’ Dirty series. I’m working on Whiskey and Wry right now so… hopefully within a few months? Maybe by June? *crosses fingers* All depends on DSP’s schedule.

      Thank you so much!

  15. Katie H.

Just finished Sinner’s Gin. Love, Love, Loved it!!!! Can’t wait for the sequel. The last part was a wonderful surprise, hope his story comes soon.
Thanks for sharing your talent with us. Will be reading everything I can get my hands on from you.

    1. YAY! I’m glad you loved my boys. 😀 The sequel is coming. It’s a bit delicate to fit into the pieces since well… you know where I left SG 😀 Thank you again!

  16. Holly

Nooooooo… you are so mean! I just finished Sinner’s Gin, and that last little bit … Um, June you say? Grrrp. I can’t wait! 🙂 I guess I’ll just have to read a few more of your books now, and I’ll look forward to the others!

  17. Kathy McGowan

    Hi Rhys
Just finished Sinner’s Gin-OMG! Loved it!!! I agree with Holly above-what a teaser for the next book! So glad there will be more. Happy New Year to you and will wait anxiously for the next SG!! Yayyyy!

    1. There will be four books total inf the Sinners series. *grins* And well, you know who’s one of the Main Cees in the next one. *grins* I’m glad you loved it. Thank you! Happy New Year and woooooot!

  18. Andrea M

Just finished Sinner’s Gin and immediately bought the Dirty series to try and soothe myself over the Sinners teaser. Is it June yet? That’s one fantastic book!

    1. Heh… ah, the Dirty series is quite a bit different from Sinner’s. I hope you like Cole and Jae. I’m writing as quickly as my brain melts *grins* It still needs to be accepted by DSP 😀

  19. Maryann Kafka

Sinners Gin fantastic!!!!!! Looking forward to the next book . DIrty series just as good. Ready for the next one.

  20. Loved Sinner’s Gin. The ending shocked me. Can’t wait for the next book. This is my first book I read by you and I am hooked. Loved the Morgans and Miki is just special.

  21. Anna

About a year ago I finished reading through Josh Lanyon’s entire back catalog and have been looking for something as enjoyable since. I went with Amazon’s suggestions and read some ok novels and lots of pretty bad ones but I never enjoyed any nearly as much as I enjoyed Josh Lanyon’s work. And about a week ago finally FINALLY Amazon suggested Sinner’s Gin to me. Wow. I loved it. This is the fist time I’ve enjoyed a story as much as I enjoy Josh Lanyon’s work. Thank you so much and I can’t wait for your next book. I went back and read Dirty Kiss and Dirty Secret and loved the reference to Cloak and Dagger and it’s hot owner!

    1. I am deeply honoured to be included in the same paragraph as Josh’s name. I’ve known Josh for years and I can tell you there is no other author in the genre I hold high. He’s fantastic. Love him to death.

I’m happy you liked Sinner’s Gin. I’m working on its sequel. You read the ending, right? *grins* Some people thought it was a blurb for another book. Just checking. *GRINS*

Dirty Laundry will be out in a few months. April I think. *nods*

Thank you. Really. I am very touched by your words.

  22. Anna

Yes, I finished Sinner’s Gin and I’m on pins and needles waiting for the next installment. Fortunately or unfortunately I didn’t discover Josh Lanyon until he had finished the Adrien English series. Thank god I was able to just read through all five books without interruption. I think I would’ve died waiting for years to see what happens with Adrien and Jake. But I’m glad I discovered your stories in the beginning. The anticipation of the next book is also a treat.

    1. YEARS! YEARS! There were years between Dangerous Things and the The Hell You Say. I was about to head up to Pasadena and plant lawn gnomes over his yard. *grins* Love Adrien and Jake.

Heh… a cat. Oh such delightfully arrogant things.

      1. Holly

Yes , there were years!?! Hmmm , just in case, what’s your own opinion of lawn gnomes/concrete art as landscaping? 😛

      2. I have an intense fascination with lawn ornaments. I grew up in Hawai’i. For the most part, lawn ornaments are glass fishing balls and pagodas. Pink flamingos and lawn gnomes are quite fascinating. As are concrete reclining animals.

  23. Karlz

Sinner’s Gin was fantastic. Now I have to wait til June……. Gonna go stark raving mad! Grrrrrrrrr. Love how you write. I read DK and DS and enjoyed them both so DL should ease some of the agony of waiting for W&W. you are now on my automatic ‘buy’ list up there with Amy Lane, Cardeno C, JP Barnaby and Mary Calmes.

  24. rebecca

I have to say that sinners gin was one of the best books I have read in a very long time…and trust me when I tell you that I have read more than my fair share recently. When I read the end of the book I was so happy and excited that I actually let out a little squeal and did a small happy dance in my chair with a little bit of clapping to boot. I received a strange look from the hubby but who cares, right lol. I seriously bow down to your ability to create such a fascinating story that leaves people wishing it could go on forever. I have no doubt that the next books in the series are going to be just as good if not better and will be counting the days until I will be able to submerge myself in their world yet again.

    1. Thank you. *blushes* Ah, the ending. It’s been a bit of a kerfluffle on that but I wanted to give the reader something that would then change the whole book when they re-read it. I thought the reader had to start it the first time with the glut of Miki’s pain without any hint of the “truth” so yeah, I was a bit of an unreliable narrator on the overall arc. But oh, it’s coming back to bite me as I write W&W. *grins* But it’s going well. Hope to finish it up in a few weeks.

I’m glad you liked it! There will be only four books in this series. Maybe a novella at some point for you know…checking in. Tell hubby I’m sorry about the squeal.

No, that’s a lie. I am not sorry.

      Thank you. Again. So much.

  25. Angie

Just finished my first ever Rhys Ford book “Sinner’s Gin”… I absolutely loved the book OMG…. I will definitely pick up the other series and begin reading tonite.. I wanted to say that I am now a big fan of your work. I started reading your book and did not stop til I was done…. “You are just magical”. All I can say is “I am addicted to your words”…

    1. I am so glad you liked Sinner’s Gin! Thank you!

The Dirty Series is a bit different. More action as it were and first person, told in Cole’s POV. There’s also a cast supplement if you need it for the second book. There are a LOT of Korean names so it helps to have a scoresheet.

Thank you! Working on Whiskey and Wry right now. *grins* Hope to have it done in time for a summer release. Wish me luck!

  26. Jay

    Hey Rhys;

I must admit this (Sinner’s Gin) was the first of your work that I read… I really LOVED it. When I started reading the end I was like ?huh?, Is this a new book that started? like you get at the end of some books where it’s like a teaser for another book as I didn’t recognize the character’s name (nice touch with that by the way), and then the reveal…. I was like OMG, I did NOT see that coming…

I had been so sad about some of the events, but that was just a shocker (in a VERY good way). I will definitely get the next (and all others) in the series.

I read a LOT (and I mean really, a lot) and this book was really such a good one! Thank you for this wonderful work of literacy. I can’t wait for the next, but as someone mentioned above, it will be worth the wait .

Thank You, and I hope you have a wonderful New Year!

    1. Thank you so much for your faith in me. I will work hard not to disappoint you.

Thank you also for liking SG. It was both and frustrating to write. *grins*

Ah, the reveal. I did that for two reasons. The reader now knows what’s coming in the next book but also if Sinner’s Gin is re-read, it changes the tone of the book. I needed Miki to be entrenched in his beliefs and it was critical for the book to have no hint of the reveal. As a re-read, it lightens the book because the reader knows of something that will drastically change Miki’s world for the better.

Really, again…..thank you. I hope Whiskey and Wry will satisfy you as well.

  27. Sara

I so loved this book! Just finished and I fell in love with all the characters. I so hope the next book also contains the Morgans (especially Quinn.. hint hint) because that family is so great.. !! Loved the ending. I was SO happy about the ending because I fell in love with that character too with all the little blurbs between him and SinJun. Do you have a date for the next book because I’m going to be driving myself crazy waiting for it. This book is WAY up there on my favorites and definite keeper that I’ll read over again. Thanks!!!! On to the Dirty series now…

    1. Hello, love!
Ah, thank you so much for reading SG! I am glad you liked it. I’m working on W&W as quickly as I could. Today was a run errand day… cat to the vets, etc… so now I have to play catchup but… sooooon! Hopefully.

The Morgans will be present in all of the books in some capacity. Quinn will be in the fourth book as one of the Main Cees. All of the books will have to do with the “band”.

The blurbs were meant to do two things. Help the reader understand Miki and Damien’s relationship and to drive home how integrated they were. So much of who they were developed around one another so being apart… literally was like cutting off a limb.

Ah, the ending. That was a reveal for the readers only… and not the characters in the story but when you re-read, it does change the novel a bit because you KNOW Miki’s going to have his soul returned to him at some point.

Thank you again. So so so much! I hope to keep you entertained! Thank you!

  28. Clancy Ellis

I have just finished Sinner’s Gin and was blown away, I think because it had a great story and plot. Don’t get me wrong I love the erotic, sexy bits as much as the next m/m reader, but some I’ve read lately have had so much sex there hasn’t been room for a plot of any kind and you know that can be really so boring I find myself skipping it to see if I can find a story! Please write faster I cannot wait for the next one and in the meantime I think I’ll have a crack at some of your others.

    1. Ah, thank you! Um, I do try to layer the mystery in with the relationship through my books. I think a relationship is a very important part of the character’s life but there has to be a balance in the story. I hope that you found that in SG. Thank you so much for liking it. And yes, that Epilogue in SG is biting me back now… but I shall triumph!

      Thank you again!

  29. Lynn

Thank God…… I thought this was the only book in the series………
looking forward to your next instalment

    1. *waves* Hello!

Nope there will be four books total in the series. *grins* The ending of SG is the lead in to Whiskey and Wry. Wish me luck. It’s been a bit of a bitch but we’ll get there!

      Thank you for coming by!

  30. I loved this book. I loved this book. I LOVED THIS BOOK! Kane – amazing. Miki – I want to hug him forever. The rest of the Morgan’s …I want them to adopt me so I can live with them always. This book had everything and I could not stop reading it. I am dying for the next book and I literally just read the last page of Sinner’s and already I’m going through withdrawals. Such a fantastic read, thank you!

    1. Heh… Thank you. Ah, the Morgans. They have their issues but a pretty decent family. *laughs* I’m glad you liked the boys! They were a pain in the ass AND fun to write. Working on the second on. I’m alternating between the Sinners series and Dirty series. *grins* Glad you liked them!

  31. Dilette Villa

Absolutely loved Sinner’s Gin. Can’t wait for the sequel and please whatever you do, do not let Kane and Miki seperate ever! When is the next book coming out?

    1. Miki and Kane are definitely a couple. *grins* Whiskey and Wry is about Damien and um… him coming back to Miki. The next book will be out… hopefully mid-year? Fall? *crosses fingers*

And thank you! There will be four books total in this series. You will definitely see Miki and Kane again.

  32. Kendra

OMG!! I could so see a second book being about Damien coming back to Miki…and Kane…and having a triad. If that isn’t what happens that would be totally cool too but man, the relationship between Damien and Miki was just as important as Miki and Kane. Damien coming back is going to tilt Miki’s axis and, just, awesome. 🙂

  33. reva

Omg! I find myself wishing the months can go by fast just so i can read the second book about damien! Hotttttttt

  34. De

So I just finished reading Sinner’s Gin, (shouldn’t have read it so fast, cause what now?!)…it was fantastic, really love Miki’s inner dialogue that leaks out his mouth…when can we expect the next installment?

    1. Ah, I am working on Damie’s book right now. Finishing it up. *grins* I am alternating between the Dirty series and Sinners’. Dirty Laundry is next up in April. Um… if you go back in the blog, I’ve posted an excerpt from Whiskey and Wry under… Celebrating Dirty Laundry’s edits 😀 I think Feb 9th? I don’t remember. I should repost 😀

  35. Dilette Villa

More Miki and Kane please!!! I just love the way they love and balance each other out. Not to mention how hot they are together. Can’t wait for this love story to continue to grow.

      1. Dilette Villa

I’m sure it will be a fantastic story! The novella sounds like a great idea!

  36. Treasure

Has Miki ever sand full voice for Kane? Not just the sotto voce that he does all the time, but full out?

I had a hard time reading this story just because of what happened to Miki, I mean, I know it isn’t nonfiction or anything but it was hard to read. It took me a while to finished it (skipped) just because my heart can’t literally take it. Great story and I loved it but I hope you’ll write something lighter soon. 🙂

    Is Damien the next story?

    1. I tried to make Miki’s backstory as delicately phrased as possible. *hugs*

I am glad you liked it and yes, I’m actually writing something lighter right now. Damien IS the next story. *grins*

      *hugs*

I’m usually not a fan of romance but Sinner’s Gin’s story drew me in and the fleshed-out, unique characters made me stay for the ride. I really enjoyed it, and I will pick up your other books as soon as I can. Thank you for renewing my faith in the romance genre.

    1. Hello and hugs! *squishes*

I’m glad you found the books to your liking. I tend to like to read books about relationships and plots so I sort of want to write that way. You know? *grins* Because romance is… a part of life but not the whole of life. Books kind of should be that way too. Mostly.

Unless you wanna read a pure romance because seriously, sometimes that’s a good mind candy to have. I do it all the time. 😀

I have no idea what I’m saying. I need coffee. Damn. Heh.

I am very happy you liked SG. I hope you like the others. Thank you.

    Hi Rhys,

I loved Sinner’s Gin, with the ups and downs, and the spoiler (for Whiskey and Wry) you could’ve knocked me over with a feather – as I did NOT see that one coming. Very happy about it though, and can’t wait for it to be published.

    Regards
    @hanlie63

    1. Hi hi! *waves* heh… ah, Whiskey and Wry… It’ll be out in August and I’m so glad you liked Sinner’s Gin. Miki and Kane were lovely to write. Thank you for liking them!

  41. Kim Upright

I have gone back to Sinner”s Gin again and again. I loved it that much. Written by a true sensualist with a soulful weave of characters whose quiet, courageous vulnerability have endeared themselves to me in an unforgettable way. So many of us who have survived things like what Mikki endured have the kind of humor that was written into him as well as the fighting spirit to keep living and find joy. None of us forget the first time we find ourselves surrounded by a loving family and the wonderful terrifying experience that takes place inside of us when we embrace what it feels like to be loved for the first time. You want to bask in it and run from it all at the same time, just like Mikki did. It was a tactile, ultimate comforting experience to read. Thank you for writing it. I am looking forward to the next book.

    1. Thank you so very much for liking the boys. Miki was a very personal character to write. I wanted him to have a balance of strength and vulnerability. He needed to feel the world around him again and the reader needed to see him slowly begin to reach for Kane… and open himself up.

Whiskey and Wry…. ah, I hope you enjoy it. I truly do. *hugs* and thank you again.

  42. Kirsten

I finished Sinner’s Gin today and was blown away by the ending! I’ll be counting the days until the next book in the series comes out. I’m very glad that I chose SG to read after finishing up Dirty Laundry (which, I must say, I thought was going to break my heart! That ending!). I look forward to reading any other books you release in the future! 🙂

    1. Aaawww thank you. Heh. I promise…stick with me. *nods* It’ll all be good. Ah, Sinner’s Gin was fun to write and Whiskey and Wry will be… oh I hope you like it. *cheers* Thank you, love.

  43. nicstar000

Hurry up August/September! Yes, wishing my life away – the last chapter of Sinner’s Gin provided such a hook into the next book – I can’t wait!

  44. susanmacnicol

Hell, Rhys is such a bloody tease. I raced through Sinner’s Gin and loved every single minute of it and then to end on a cliff hanger – NOOOOO!! Rhys, what the heck are you doing to me?? I can’t wait for the next book. *wrings hands in desperation* Roll on August/September

  45. Mihaela

I am sure you posted the W&W cover to make the waiting more … errr… pleasant!
You only succeeded to make me want to have this book like yesterday!
I mean… look at them! *boggles*
Such a tease you are… But I adore your writing so I’ll leave you live with it!..:-)

  46. Madonna

I posted this at Sid Love as well:)
    SPOILERS FOR WHISKEY AND WRY…
I can’t even begin to tell you how much I loved Whiskey and Wry… but I’ll try:) Damien and Sionn are magic together. The action and mayhem had me on the edge of my seat and, oh my oh my – that was the baddest bad guy psycho ever to grace the pages of a mystery. What does it say about me that his black meanderings and mutterings made me laugh even while I know how despicable he is?

The plot was terrific but I gotta say it’s the dialogue and characters that stood out. As much as I adored *adored* Damien and Sionn, and the unique and wonderful friendship between Damien and Miki, I loved loved loved the moments and conversations between the other characters: Kane and Sionn (lol), Donal, the most warm and wonderful patriarch on pages and his private conversations with Damien and (urp!) big, wonderful Connor, Connor and Damient, Sionn and Rafe (who should join Sinner’s Gin by the way;), and oh lordy Aunt B! The supporting cast were absolutely wonderful.

The dialogue made me laugh out loud or get teary or had me smiling. Donal and B’s wonderful boys, these terrific big men – well, they had me wrapped around their collective fingers. Their protectiveness towards each other and the adopted *sons*, Damien and MIki, was beautiful. Miki’s snark is still there, thank goodness, but he’s so much *more* now that Damien is back. Lovely. The reunion? Lovely. The only down side to this novel is that I eventually came to The End, but I’m keeping my fingers crossed for more from these strong, gentle giants. Please say Connor’s story is coming up next?

    1. Hello and hugs! Thank you! I am so glad you liked it. Thank you.

Yes Connor is next and yes, Rafe will be in there. Promise.

I think so much of the book’s happy has to do with the secondary characters. I want the main characters to exist with a support network. And that includes Donal and even Aunt B. You’ll see her more gentler side in the next book. Maybe 😀

I so wanted to write Damien and Miki as a solid relationship. They truly are symbiotic and still easily find some footing with their lovers. That was the challenge.

Miki’s snark will never go away. *grins* Promise. Smooches and thank you. So so much.

  47. Trudy

Just finished W&W! What an awesome book. I laughed, cried, and was totally rocked by this book as much as the first. I do have to say though, that for me, Sionn and Damien’s involvement took a backseat for me at first because I was on pins and needles anticipating when Miki and Damien would see each other again and how they would be together again. I became invested in them as a couple (Sionn and Damien) after the boys were together. Funny. For some reason I thought Damien was going to be with Quinn, but Sionn totally worked and it made for a great read. Everything flowed perfectly and the writing was exceptional.

Loved seeing the family again especially Miki and Kane. The suspense was off the chain. I could not put it down until I was finished. Donal is the best Dad I ever read about in a book. Cannot wait for Connor’s book. Did not see that one coming and I am waiting with barely contained excitement until it comes out. Rafe totally should be a part of the new band and I hope Quinn will have a book. Keep up the fantastic work.

    1. Aw, thank you love!

Quinn and Rafe are scheduled for Sloe Ride. 😀 Have no fear. There will be Rafe. AND yes, Connor. Ah, we shall see if I can tackle that! *frets* I love Donal. I wanna steal him. *grins*

I am so happy you liked it! Thank you!

  48. Kathy McGowan

Rhys-loved, loved, loved Whiskey and Wry! It was going to be hard to top Sinners Gin but you were up to the task-lol. I love Miki and now Damien and now I have all kinds of new people to love-Kane, Sionn, and all the crazy Morgans! Cannot wait for the next installment of this great series!! Thank you!

    1. Aw thank you! *HUGS* Heh. I am really glad you liked it! Yep. Damie and Miki were a hell of a lot of fun to write.

Wish me luck on the next one *winks*

  49. Kourt

So many thumbs up! I love this series, need more, didn’t want it to end! Cannot wait to see what happens next.

    1. Heh. Just follow the blog is the best way. I usually post when something has hit the preorder on Dreamspinner. And you’ll see the cover ahead of time 😀 There’ll also be excerpts and other stuff. I try to involve people as much as I can 😀

  50. Whitley

I fell in love with your writing. I have read Sinner’s Gin about thrice! I know I fall in love with a story when I NEED it in actually book form and not ebook. Some things you just have to hold in your hands. *grin* Thanks for being a m/m love writer that brings so much life to the characters and can make a story really flow. Okay, I’ll stop gushing now.

      1. Dilette Villa

I just finished Whiskey and Rye and loved every second of it. These Irish boys and their emotionally crippled lovers are going to be the death of me. I fell in love all over again with Kane and Miki as well. Can’t wait to read Connor’s story. You have such a way of combining beautiful love stories with some serious heat and just the right amount of suspense. Excellent! Keep me posted on the next book please!

      2. Ah, I’ll be posting to my blog as I go about the books as they come along. Definitely follow the boys. I am so happy you liked them. Thank you! *hugs* Working on Connor right now.

  51. Devony

Hmm…Can I just say that I wish I had a Donal in my life? His response to Connor telling him he had fallen in love with a man was just…beautiful!

I am much relieved that it is Connors story we will get next…he sounded so lost when he talked to his dad. I would have been bummed if his story wasn’t told or was just a background happening to what happens next.

*blinks* I need more coffee because my train of thought just went missing;P

Thank you for giving us another series to gleefully get lost in…Now I will go back to waiting for more….are we there yet?!

Revisiting Miki & Kane right now. Jae & Cole next. I am going to go check out Josh’s books since you raved;) I am always looking for another great author.

…ok now I am babbling. Lol gonna go get that coffee now.

    1. Ah smooches and thank you. I am writing Tequila Mockingbird right now. Okay I took a lunch break but will get right back into it. *nods*

Heh…. So much is coming out next year. Trust me, you’ll be sick of seeing me. laughs.

Josh is an incredible story teller. Really. God so much the love.

  52. Devony

Hehe….I dunno. I think asking for lunch is a bit much;)
Hehehe tequila mockingbird?!…is that an actual drink?

Ok I know it’s been said somewhere ,but you have done such a beautiful job of creating sooo many characters I know I would want to know more about…I know the focus on the series 4 books. Will the stories not explored here be told?

…okay now I feel like I should apologize! O-O lol We fans are just sooo demanding.
*grins* how dare you want lunch!….or life outside of your stories…or or Cookies!

Erm I said thank you somewhere right?

    1. Heh. Smoooches. Um… and yes I think you can get a Mockingbird. Or I should make one.

Sinners is a four book series but there will be a novella or two. Or a short novel in addition. Dunno what I’m going to do. I’ll never say never to something. *grins*

And ah, so much on the horizon! HEH! Smoooches

  53. Lula

I just had to let you know that it is because of Sinner’s Gin that made me a fan of m/m romance. Love your writing. Love your boys. I just finished Fish and Ghosts and loved that too. Will be starting the Cole series this weekend- Pajamas and pina coladas required- cheers!

    1. Aw thank you! Honestly there are SO many awesome writers out there. I can’t even begin to list them. And if I do I’ll get into trouble because I forgot someone I love.

I am soooo happy you liked them. Thank you!

    1. Hello! Whiskey and Wry is being worked on right now. The whole series will be done on audio as far as I know. *grins* I dunno about the Dirty Series. The poor narrator and Korean words! *grins*

  54. I just wanted to take a moment to tell you how much I loved this series. I have been a long time reader of romance and mysteries and just recently my hometown library system has started buying ebooks and giving the readers a chance to recommend titles for purchase. I immediately chose to suggest books published by Dreamspinner press and that is how I found you. I immediately started reading Sinner’s Gin and am in the process of reading Whiskey and Wry. Then I’m going to start Cole’s series. I love the complexities of the characters that you weave and how you never go off in tangents with the characters. I love how you added sex as a progression of the relationship, not just as something to titillate the readers.

You can tell that you care about your characters and that you breath life into them. I lost myself in the story and was jarred when I had to actually do my job since I was mostly reading at work. My heart bled for Miki and all through that he went through and for Kane and how he was unsure how to help Miki get through what was happening to him. I also love how supportive Kane’s family was and how Kane’s father took Miki under his wing and protection.

As soon as I have a little extra money I am definitely going to buy as many of your books as I can afford.

Thank you so much for sharing your worlds and your words with us.

    Calia

    1. I cannot tell you how much your words mean to me. Thank you so very very much. Really. What I always want to be able to give you, the reader, is an entertaining time for a few hours. That you have a bit of fun for however long you allow me into your life.

Thank you. So so much. And also thank you for supporting your library. Such an important role that place plays in so many lives.

      *hugs*

  55. euridice

OK… Read about Fish and Ghosts on Kaje Harper’s blog… bought it on Monday, finished it on Tuesday night… Are we getting Cin, next? (please say yes…)
on to the Sinners series… finished Sinner’s Gin on Thursday and Whiskey and Wry this morning… I love my dad, but I’ve been seriously tempted to exchange him with Donal…
The bit about Connor completely threw me off, I was betting he was going to end up with Rafe… well, there’s still Quinn the Historian, after all, there’s plenty of hot Morgan men to get by!
    You are amazing, btw…
On to the Cole McGinnis series, yayyyy!

    1. Soooo many questions. Heh… okay.

      1. The next book is Wolf and Tristan but you WILL see Cin. He’ll have his own books 😀

Heh. And oh, Donal rocks. I adore writing him.

Tequila Mockingbird is out in June so… Connor! WOOOT

And thank you, love. So very much.

  56. dianalicia23

I got caught up with all your chats and postings for this weekend-you were amazing as always and have some great work coming up! I had a question and an exclamation…

Will the Dirty series be on hold after this latest release in March and then come back with another round of books? ( i was a little confused)

my exclamation: I can’t wait for Connor and Forrest’s book!!! Love your Sinner’s Gin books love them…and the rest of your work too ;D

    thank you!

    1. Ah there will be a total of SIX books in the Dirty Series initally, not including Down and Dirty (Ichi and Bobby). I was soooooooo tired this weekend. I’m not even sure if I’m coming or going 😀

Heh. I really hope you like Tequila Mockingbird!

  57. Josie

I just finished the audiobook of Sinners Gin, it blew me away it was so good, and the ending, I just had to go and pick up the audio for Whisky & Wry. I have both ebooks anyway, but I love audiobooks.

  58. Pingback: Congratulations to Rhys Ford and Black Dog Blues | Library Adventures.com

  59. Krystal

I can’t wait for Tequila Mockingbird!! I love Conner, he is one of my favorite characters!!! He’s just such a good person, and I keep reading that small part about him at the end of Whiskey and Wry. Thank you for writing this series!

      1. Krystal

There is no doubt in my mind that I’ll like it. I’ve loved every book of yours that I’ve read!

  60. I gotta say, after devouring both “Sinner’s Gin” and “Whiskey and Wry”, I am highly upset that Sinner’s Gin isn’t a real band –mostly because I loved all those hints of lyrics at the opening of each chapter… and all the guys… Okay, because real life is never as awesome as fiction, lol.

I’m also desperately anticipating “Tequila Mockingbird” and Connor’s story, because I love the whole family (especially Donal. Best Dad Ever award to that one!) and I can’t wait to see how they react to the whole thing ((:

So, so excited! But I know the book will definitely live up to my expectations: I have fait in you ((:

    1. awwwww thank you! *hugs* heh. Tequila Mockingbird… oh.. Connor. 😀 You’ll get to see a lot of Brigid and Donal in that one. *hugs* I hope you like it! *HUGS*

      1. Hey, those lyrics reminded me of some of the bands I adore. And, since I’m a writing dabbler and I have a story I’m working that involves a band, they inspired some lyrics for one of my stories :))

Oh, that reminds me: I about died laughing reading the dedication page for “Whiskey and Wry”. Dean and Castiel should listen! I would pay to see the episode! lol

So glad I’ll get to see more of the family! Donal just may be my favorite character –right after Damie and Miki, of course, haha.

*Big Hugs* I will have to reread and relive until the next installment is available, but I know for sure I will enjoy it each time as much or more than I enjoyed it the first time!

(And I’m always so verbose in these comments; please forgive me, lol)

      2. *hugs* You will see a lot of Donal and Brigid in Tequila Mockingbird. Sooooo much of them *winks* And the novella is out in May! Really, so much stuff out! *grins*

I am so happy you like it, love. Thank you.

  61. Dilette

Oh Yay!!!! I can’t wait. Are there any plans for a short novella for Sionn and Damien? I loved how sweet Sionn is with him.

  62. Ame

I think i’m more excited for Tequila Mockingbird then I was for Whiskey and Wry. Have the date saved on my calender already.

  63. Ivy

Hi Rhys, I love the Sinners books and can’t wait for TM. I love all the Morgan men and Connor was a huge surprise at the end of W&W. I can’t wait to read his story. I love listening to the books, I’ve listened to the audiobooks of SG & W&W 3 or 4 times now. I love listening to them when I go to bed.

The moment we met Rafe and heard is story, I wanted him to be in the band and to feel whole again. Did you say in an earlier post that he ends up with Quinn?

Thanks again for introducing us to these fantastic characters.

I’m reading the Dirty series now and just finished Dirty Kiss. Awesome book. This series is just as good and the characters are wonderful.

  64. Renee

Love this series. Can’t wait for Devil’s Brew to be out next week. Do you have a date yet for Tequila Mockingbird? Something more concrete than “June”! As always, patiently (sorta) waiting for each book.

  65. Joe

Just finished reading the entire series and I have to say I was enthralled. I really enjoyed the read and I loved all the characters to death. I want a hug from Claudia and I would not mind being in Bobby’s shoes from the description of Ichi. Oh thank you for taking me on this journey I truly enjoyed the ride. I hope it is not over but I’m satisfied. joe

  66. I have been addicted to your Sinners series since the first book. I couldn’t wait for Whiskey and Wry and so enjoyed it. I think I read it in two days. Then I reread the other two. Looking forward to the next one. The cliffhangers on the last page have me absolutely begging for more.

I also love your Dirty series. I enjoy the bits of Korean culture you include and the food is always interesting. Cole gets himself into the most OTT situations. The beginning of “DIrty Laundry” I think where he tries to rescue the little girl’s dog had me FOTCL. I could clearly see her from your description and loved the fact that she’d saved her money and fronted up to his office. LOL!!

  67. *siighs*… So I was finally able to read The Devils Brew & omg I want Tequila Mockingbird like right NOW! lol
Thank you for another glimpse into Miki & Kanes world, tho Mikis insecurity breaks my heart 😦 Can I say one more time that Donal rocks?! I adore how he loves his kids & more awesome is that he has just as much love for his kids partners! 😉
So thank you for giving me such a sweet diversion from real life stress ;P
Btw we scored a very nice house right where we need it…the kids can stay in their school yay! So now just to sift thru our crap & pack!..yay? lol 😉

      1. Yeah…after 2weeks of knotted stomachs & all of us freaking out because really we needed a 4 bedroom place but even the 2 bedrooms available in our area were way pricey…& how would we stuff 5 people & four cats into a 2 bedroom place even if they would take us?! *twitches*… & don’t even get me started on the throw down hubby & I got into as soon as he mentioned it would be easier to find a place if we did not have the cats! As if taking our fur babies would ever be a question?! *glares at the back of hubby’s head*
Thankfully we weren’t made to face that choice…instead we will have a bigger place with 5 rooms…so for the 1st time my niece & son will not have to share a room! ;D…and our kitchen is bigger then a closet! lol
So tho the experience left my poor hubby 9 lbs lighter & we were all mega stressed, it will end with us in a better place & our fur babies too!
Oy!…a long post again, but at least it’s been awhile 😉

      2. Oh god no that sounds like it’s awesome and poor husband was probably just overwhelmed. *hugs* It hapens. you know? the kids must be soooo excited!

      3. Oh yes! ;)… My niece is soo stoked. It’s waaaay past time she had her own space & son will actually have room to play in his room 😉
Yeah I understand where hubby was coming from…he operates from worse case scenario & this whole fiasco had him seeing us on the streets*winces* poor guy lol
I am sooo happy with how it’s turned out & that we can all breathe again.

  68. Barb

I want to add my love of all your books and audiobooks to the mix. I love this series as well as Cole’s and have to say BOTH of the voice actors have been awsome in their intepretation of the series. I’ve got to commend you on a great job!!!!

I’m always checking out your name in the stores for any new books as well as watching here and on facebook. I can’t wait for them all to come out on audiobook. I hope that’s your plan.

    Keep writing, you rock.

  69. Chantal Donnelly

I love your books… I can’t wait for Tequila Mockingbird. Who is Sloe Ride going to be about?

  70. Madonna

I just bought TM from Dreamspinner and can’t wait to curl up for a great read and revisit some of my all time favourite characters:) Love love this series!

  71. Damn…you are waaaay too good at the cliffhangers! ;P
Poor Rafe…don’t think he was quite ready for that sweet bombshell *evil cackle*
Can I just say thank you! Finally Brigid has a son in law who will soak up all the love she wants to give! 😉 Forest is lovely & I loved how naturally he & Connor flowed into their relationship.

*whimpers*…but now I have to wait again!

  72. Pingback: Hair of the Dog Tour Stop One! | Books,Coffee & Captured Moments

  73. Bought it, read it, loved Miki & Damie being in it & loved how Forest & Connor came together so well. But….you did less on Forest’s background. Could use a bit more. I miss Miki & Kane as Miki was never that angry with Kane. Oh, heck love this series!! Thank you!

  74. So, um, yeah, I just finished Tequila Mockingbird, and just… Yeah, I need Sloe Ride SO MUCH now. I may have been hoping and wishing for a Quinn book since I read Whiskey & Wry, and the ending of Tequila Mockingbird might have made me frantically text a friend of mine (who had also just finished the book) in all caps because OH OH OH THIS IS A THING I NEED I DID NOT KNOW I NEEDED THOSE TWO TOGETHER BUT NOW I DO.

    Can’t wait!

  75. Ashley Davis

Do you know when Tequila Mockingbird is going to be available on audible.com? Really love the audio formats because my eyes are constantly hurting. Lol. To much reading in the dark as a kid.

    1. Sorry. I don’t know. And they can’t give the narrator the copy until it goes to final. So he JUST got it 😀

He’ll need a few weeks and I don’t know what he’s got ahead of TM 😀

  76. Ivy

Hi Rhys, do you know when the audio book is coming out for Tequila Mockingbird?
I love listening to the audio while I read. 🙂 Thanks.

    1. Heh. Don’t feel bad. Everyone seems to be wondering when Tristan’s going to grace them with his voice. I just posted a general announcement. *grins* Be sure to enter the contest.

  77. Dilette

Rhys you did it again, loved Tequila can’t wait for the next book and since I can’t get enough of them, I love that we get to catch up with all the other characters. The Devil’s Brew was such a treat! Keep up the great work. BTW I wish I had a Morgan too!

  78. Kathy

Thank you Rhys for an outstanding series. I love, love, love the Sinners!!! Cannot wait for Quinn’s story and I so agree with the writer above..I want a Morgan too!!

  79. I think Tequila Mockingbird is my favorite in the series so far! Love Forest so much! But I can hardly wait for Quinn’s story – I’m really looking forward to reading about him, because all the hints about him in the previous books are so fascinating. I almost wish I hadn’t discovered the series until it was finished, so I could read it all at once (that’s what happened with the Adrien English series, and I was so glad I didn’t have to wait between books there!). It’s probably a good thing, though, since I’m not working over the summer break, so I can’t really afford to be buying so many books! 😉

Also eagerly awaiting Duck, Duck, Ghost – I see the cover, but there still isn’t any more info about it. Any updates coming soon?

    1. Smoooches and thank you!

Ah, there’s two more books in the Sinners Series so you’d be waiting a bit *grins* But yes, Quinn is next!

Duck Duck Ghost is actually nearly done with the editing rounds and coming into production. I have to find the date it’s out. In a couple of months actually 😀

  80. I thought there were only going to be 4 books in the series – wouldn’t Sloe Ride be the 4th? So only one more book to wait for (not that I would object to more! Not at all!)?

  81. Adriana

Ok. Soooo… Maybe I missed it. When will Sloe Ride be out?
Loved this series red the books currently in it back to back in less than 2 days.

      1. Adriana

        Aaaaaaaaaa. The wait. 😦
I guess, I will have to read your other series now, so I can tolerate the wait! 😉
Thanks for the response and for letting me disengage my mind in your books.

  82. bookjunkie12

I’m so exited for Quinn’s story to be written. I’ve been waiting for his story since Sinner’s Gin!!!

  83. I just needed to say I am in love with the Sinner’s Gin series. My friend got me book one as a gift yesterday morning. Easy to say with this series I went and bought the rest of them and I just finished Tequila Mockingbird. Rhys Ford you are a wonderful writer and I look forward to book four…..and sleep.

      1. I also have to alternate the series I run and there are two more Sinners books… Sloe Ride and the one I haven’t named yet 😀

This series rates up there with my other favorite series: Matter of Time by Mary Calmes and the Deviations series by Chris Owen. Like them, whenever I need the comfort of a good book with great characters I turn to these. Can’t wait for Sloe Ride!

  85. Stayxee

I just finished your first two books in this series and I just have to say, both books had me at the very first page (finished both in 2 days). I am now addicted and you are to blame. *grin* I must feed this addiction so I’m off to buy the rest of the books available.

    1. Aw, thank you.

If it helps, you are feeding my cats. One in particular… the one I use as my avatar, is a pudge who greatly appreciates anything food related. You are making her VERY happy.

Me too. Really. I’m glad you liked them!

  86. Amanda

Okay, found Sinner’s Gin while on vacation, and raced my way through them all. Looking forward to the next story!

  87. I am going out of my mind! I really need Tequila Mockingbird on audiobook so I can listen to it as I study and stuff in school. Drawing class is just so much better with books there to inspire, like the Sinner’s Gin books. Just having it play in the background gives me wonderful ideas, and book three is my favorite! >.> Yeah going nuts here, any idea when the audiobook will be out?

    1. Aw thank you love. No, sorry to say I don’t know when the audiobook will be out but I know it’s being worked on *nods*

I really am glad you enjoy Tristan’s work!

  88. kelle

Is Sloe Ride Quinn’s story I hope? Also did I understand your post right…there will be a 5th book? God I love these men, my husband really needs to learn some Galelic!

  89. Caroline

I just finished Tequila Mockingbird. Phew….awesome. So now…I sit…I wait…I can’t wait! What a great tease with Quinn and Rafe! LOVE IT!

  90. Tommy

So, I have gotten nothing done today, Started the morning with a full to-do list, but at 7 AM I sat down with a cup of coffee and looked at my Scribd books and saw Sinner’s Gin. Read it with the first pot of coffee. I was hooked. The other books in the series were not in Scribd, so I went to the Nook Store and bought Whiskey and Wry and Tequila Mockingbird. It is now after 10 PM and have finished. What a great F*&%$() day this has been. Love the Morgan’s and the extended family. Lucky for me it’s bedtime so the Cole McGinnis series will have to wait, at least till tomorrow’s coffee…..

  91. I actually don’t know. The production of the audiobooks are totally run by the publisher and the narrator’s schedule but as soon as I know anything, I post it to my blog. I’m looking forward to seeing them too.

  92. Pat

I LOI LOVE this series! I especially love the Morgan clan…. Uhm … I know it’s not your normal genre, but would you consider writing an m/f book? Love to see one of Kiki Morgan. I can just imagine the sparks flying when she falls is love!

Can’t wait for Sloe Ride and Down and Dirty 🙂

    P.S.
So glad Tristan James & Greg Trembly are narrating your audio books, they did your books justice!

    1. Aw, thank you! Heh. Writing a M/F? I’m not going to say never but… I dunno. It would be… interesting and I’d definitely do Kiki if I did. *grins*

Down and Dirty…ah, so soooooon! And after I finish Murder and Mayhem, I’ll begin Sloe Ride.

I cannot tell you how happy I am to have Tristan and Greg with me on the audiobooks. Seriously, god I love and adore them.

      Thank you! smooches

  93. Heather Ralls

Absolutely love this series!!!! Can not wait for the next book, I am hoping the band gets its final member.

  94. Kerri

So, do you know when in 2015 Sloe Ride will be published? Because if it’s January or February, those are both almost here. Please don’t say August. I really might cry, big huge ugly face cry.

    1. *hands you tissues* Um… I actually still have to write it. It’s next in the queue. Sooooo… it’ll be a bit. *nods* January is Down and Dirty, Feb is Black Dog Blues and July is The Four. I’m going to get Sloe Ride out as soon as I can. *hugs*

  95. Kerri

Ooh! January and February release dates?!? I will totally take those! Not that I want Sloe Ride any less, but two other books will do great things for my life. Maybe not for my sleep or homework schedules, but that’s ok. It’s a totally bomb trade off! So excited now! Thanks!

  96. Brooklyn

I just finished listening to Tequila Mockingbird. Love this series! And I love Tristan’s narrations. He does an amazing job with all the Irish and Spanish accents. Swoon! Love those Morgan boys. Can’t wait for book 4.

  97. I love Tristan & Greg who does Cole McGinnis Mysteries. It can be detrimental & jarring to be listening to a series & suddenly have a different reader. It’s happened with other authors & it’s awful no matter how good the reader.

  98. Vita_Orlando

Just finished listening to the audio of all the Sinners books. Wonderful! I think I love the band boys finding family and each other as much as the romances.

I grew up as a random lonely kid sort of taken in, in many ways, to a huge Catholic family. There’s a lot about the Morgan clan that rings true and makes me smile.

  99. CAS

Only 4 books? Too bad. I really like the characters…wish we could get more of them after the band’s together. Shucks!

    1. Ah, five books. Four band books, there’s already a novella and probably will be another. AND then one final book with Miki and Kane *grins* You know, to wrap things up. *hugs*

  100. Mary

You are going to end Jae & Cole & then end the Sinner’s Gin books? What will we read? *whine, snivel*

  101. irene

i have finished the three books from sinner’s gin and I had to yell you that I love them. You have done an amazing job cutting out the troubled characters of Miki, Damie and Forrest. And one cannot but feel the tenderness, care, fierce love and protectiveness the Morgans show to to them, all these only making you want to experience it as well. Sometimes I can’t stop thinking is wrong to enjoy m/m romances so much but what I like the most is the raw honesty and no “bullshitting around”. So, thank you for your books and I can’t wait to read Sloe ride.

  102. Dee Smith

God, I love the Sinners series! Cannot wait for Sloe Ride. Please write real fast, okay? Thanks so much for this awesome series!

  103. Jaden

Honestly, Ms. Ford…hm…can I call you Unni? :3 I was supremely bored with M/M novels until I stumbled upon Sinner’s Gin a few months ago and met Miki and Kane. It punched me in the GUT and I just FELL for Miki, adored Kane, and wanted to be adopted by the Morgan family. I DEVOURED the book in a day and read the rest of the series in three days. While I loved the whole series, something about Miki stuck with me. I really feel that he’s one of the most interesting, quirkiest, and most layered characters I’ve ever had the pleasure of reading about. I haven’t been through any of the horrors he’s experienced…can’t even imagine it- but for some reason he was so relatable! It made me wonder if you had a soft spot for him too and if it’s why you write him the way you do. All your characters are believable and 3-Dimensional, but I felt your HEART in Miki. I love him. I don’t know, maybe I’m just reading too much into things?

Another character that struck me is Quinn. (He’s my #2 as far as fav characters go) For someone that didn’t have a lot of scenes (let alone his own book) he left a huge impact on a lot of readers. And that’s why, even though I know you’ve been asked this a TRILLION times, when can we expect Sloe Ride (And will that be the last book in the series?) I’m DYING. Literally…withering up and DYING. I’ve re-read Sinner’s Gin a million times, Whiskey & Wry TWICE, and lost count of how many times I’ve gone back to Tequila Mockingbird just to get some Connor and Forest up in my day!

Anyway, I know you’re working hard. Rhys Unni Fighting! (If you hadn’t suspected it yet, I’m a huge k-pop fan so I’m getting a kick out of the Cole McGinnis series. I just about squealed when I saw you listened to JYJ and Big Bang while writing it.)

    1. Saranghae-yo! *hugs hugs*

Ah, I am so glad you like the books! Miki… he is my special love. He is. AND I am working on Quinn’s book right now! Well as soon as I’m done with dinner. I hope you like it when it comes out. I shall do my best with it!

Heh…. and yes you can call me unnie. Many of my friends do. Oh, such old school K-Pop for me. Back from Dong Bang Shin Ki days … Triangle! *grins* Big Bang and JYJ remains a favourite. Love G-Dragon.

Thank you again. So So So much! HUGS!

      1. Jaden

Ahhh DBSK! My heart WEPT when they split. Jaejoong and Yunho were my fav…and the M/M fanfiction written about them was…woo! Lol. Had to turn my fan on a couple of times!

I actually got to see JYJ perform in New York a few years back. Ethereal creatures, they are. Pictures don’t do them justice.

I SO can’t wait to read about Quinn! Should I hold out any hopes for the book being released this year?

      2. Ah, I caught JYJ and Big Bang when they came in. And look who showed up at the CJES auditions the night before his concert?

Oh and I”m hoping for Sept for Sloe Ride.

      3. Jaden

~sigh~ Junsu’s so adorable! And I love his vocals! I could listen to him and Jaejoong all day. In fact, I have hehe.

And yay! I’m keeping my fingers crossed and counting down the days until September.

I’ve always been curious, did you model Miki or Jae after a particular J-Pop or K-Pop star? Or are they a mix of people? I mean this appearance and personality-wise.

  104. Sheridan

Wonderful series, you do great work! These are my go-to books, when I just don’t want to read another poorly written (or narrated) m/m book. I have all in both e-book and audio. By the way…GREAT choice as narrator in Tristan James…he is superb. So many times, the narrator just ruins the read, but you made a truly spectacular choice in James. Waiting now with anticipation of Sinners #4 with Rafe and Quinn. I do hope the series will continue after that also? Again…great work…keep it up!

  105. Kerri

I saw your blog post that you were in the home stretch of Sloe Ride. I was just wondering if its publication date is coming up? Or still a bit off cause of edits and stuff? Cause seriously if it’s coming out in the next few weeks that will be the best spring break present ever!

    1. Ahhhhhhh noooooooooo. It’s scheduled for September! Edits and all of that stuff. Dreamspinner and I want to give you the best we can. *hugs*

I’ll be doing a State of the Rhys in a few weeks to kind of outline what I’ve got going on. *grins*

  106. Stephanie

I just to tell you that I love all your books and I can’t wait for the next book of all your series comes!!! I can’t put these down!! I always has to finish them as soon as I start and then when I do finish them I can’t wait to start the next one!! Just keep trunk up these great books!! 😆

  107. Thelma Clements

I must tell you how much I have enjoyed Sinner’s Gin! I’m new to the m/m books but you are one of my favorite authors in this genre. I just had to find your website to find out when Quinn’s story will be told. I left you a message on the Amazon author’s page trying to find out. I so love these stories, it’s so emotional and it makes me laugh. You are a great story teller and look forward to reading the last installment on the Morgan brothers and the rebuilding of the band.

    1. Aw thank you. Sloe Ride, Quinn’s book, will be out in September and I’ll be doing a State of the Rhys on The Novel Approach in a week or so to kind of catch everyone up. I’ll be crossposting the link here. 😀

Sinners WILL have another book following Sloe Ride… which will be Miki’s book and close out the series. I might do a novella of the band though 😀

      Thank you again!

  108. Tina Garrett

I actually got Tequila Mockingbird in audiobook first and loved it. Had to go and buy the other books in the series that same day. I have the ebooks and the audiobooks both. You did a great job with this series. Can’t wait for Quinn’s story

    1. I really can’t answer that because the audiobook actually can’t be started until the book is released. Then it’s whenever it’s on the narrator’s schedule… then more hours as it’s recorded, edited and all of that magic stuff. THEN audible needs to process it. I want to say two to three months but it really varies. Sometimes it is very quick then other times it takes a couple more weeks than the last. 😀

  112. Miranda

Do you ever think you’ll some sort of extended epilogue for this series? I’d just love to see all the guys again a little down the road, plus I just loved this series. I’ve read it at least five times. I’ll just keep imagining what happens on my own if not. 🙂 Awesome writing, amazing characters, thanks for writing a series I love.

    1. Absinthe of Malice will be out this year… it’s a transition book of the boys going out on the road.. .which then leads to Sin and Tonic…the final book in the series *grins*

After that, it’ll be time to close the door on the series but oh, I do so love Miki and the band. *HUGS*

      1. La

Oh yea!! I am sooo glad I’ll get to find out what happens with the band down the road😊
Any idea when the next book will be out? I’m on pins and needles!!

  113. Thelma

I’m so excited to hear here are two more books to this great series. Looking forward to more of the Sinners Gin band and the Morgan family!

  114. Aislinn

Thank you so much for writing this series. I love love LOVE your books! Seriously. I have them all (that have been released) in both audio and ebook format and I can’t tell you how many times I have re-read them all. But I think my absolute favourite couple is Miki and Kane.

One thing tho that’s been bugging me. How long has it been from the time of the limo accident to the time we meet Miki in San Francisco? Dunno why but I am always trying to figure it out.

I also wanted to thank you for going to the effort of getting them produced in audio format. With my migraines as bad as they are lately audio is about the only way I can enjoy my reading addiction right now. I can’t wait for Clockwork Tangerine to be released in audio.

Thank you for all the time and effort you put into making these stories so entertaining- funny, sad, heartbreaking and uplifting all together can not be easy and I am in awe of your talent.

Thank you again and I can not wait for your next release no matter which series it comes from!

    1. It’s been about two years. I put it in the second chapter but for the life of me I can’t remember where *grins*

I am so glad you enjoyed the books and thank you. Ah, Greg’s working on Clockwork Tangerine RIGHT now 😀

      1. Aislinn

Thank you and OMG Greg!!!! YES!!

LOL somehow I feel a little silly now knowing you had given a solid time frame and as many times as I have listened to the audiobook I missed it. Ah well nothing like a good excuse to listen to it again! *giggles gleefully*

  115. Katie

Can I ask an awkward question? As a woman, how do you connect so beautifully with men’s intimacies?

    1. Well, according to my mother, I’m not really good at this whole woman stuff. Gender-wise, it’s always very interesting on what I FEEL like and how I’m perceived. I’ve never been femme. I never really thought about it but I just don’t feel like I slot well (no pun intended) into a social femme role. Now I like guys. Love them. Love the smell of them. The touch of them. They’re great. So when I write sex scenes, that’s kind of what I’m focusing on, the GUYNESS of that character.

As for the emotional part of it. I think in that case, it just comes down to writing people. No matter what our bits, and whether we talk about our inside thoughts, I think we all want to be loved, heard, cherished, protected, protect, and everything in between. Relationships are a human condition and that’s what I’m writing. Those things inside all of us.

I hope that answers your questions. xoxoxo And please, never be afraid to reach out to me. 😀

  116. Jennifer

I just finished Absinthe of Malice and absolutely loved it. I loved seeing all the characters together and seeing them as a band and seeing all the couples together. Thank you for this series 🙂 This is one of those series I love to re-read.

I know you just finished this one ( :)) but do you know when Sin and Tonic will come out?

    1. Probably next year. I haven’t written it yet but it is in my queue *grins*

I wanted to write a book that was about the band and how they were doing with a bit of lead in to the next and final full length novel. Thank you for liking it! That means a lot! ❤

  117. Brittany

I love the whole series and was wondering when Absinthe of Malices will be put in audiobook format? Can’t want for the next book in the series.

  118. This is becoming my standard Audiobook response 😀 Because honestly, I’m like the second to the last person who knows when it comes out. Audible is so frustrating 😀

    Regarding the Audiobook
Please remember, due to Audible’s contractual stipulations, an audiobook cannot be started prior to the book’s submission to Amazon so I can’t tell you when it will be released on audio. Tristan is working on it but it will be several weeks following the book’s release before the audiobook will be available…because well, time needed to record it, editing then corrections then Audible processing. So, weeks. It’s sucky. I know.

  119. Ashley

Hey! I just read Absinthe of Malice and it was AH-MAZING!! Please tell there is a next book! Or was it supposed to end like that?

      1. Awesome! Is it going to be all of their POV’s, like the 5th book, or will this one be only from Miki/Kane’s POV’s?

  120. Ruth

Well, I had a pleasant surprise recently….here I am reading Mary Calmes latest – Tied up in Knots – and who should make an appearance – a couple of Morgans! I think I quadruple checked the author of the book since I know I had not been drinking! 🙂 Sneaky, never saw that coming. LOVED IT!

      1. Troublemaker

I just want you to know you have destroyed me, and rendered me completely USELESS until the next Sinners’ book! That bomb Edie delivered at the end of Absinthe of Malice did emotional damage. Please tell me when I can expect the next book, and if it’ll be the last in the series?

  121. Thelma Clements

Will characters crossover in any of your upcoming projects? I will miss the Morgan’s and the extended family.

  122. Renee Maller

Love this series and can I just say that Tristin James is my favorite narrator! His accents, whether Irish or British, just make me feel all warm & fuzzy. 🙂

      1. Troublemaker

        HUZZAH!

I’ve read all your books, Rhys, and no one does it for me like Miki & Kane.

The entire Sinners series has been fantastic, and my overall favorite, but I’ll never forget the first time I read Sinner’s Gin. Ever.

  123. Amy

Loved all Sinners books. It’s just sad to say good bye to them. All of the books were well written, the song lyrics were awesome. You sure you can’t write about the other guys a little and throw in Miki and Kane just see how their doing not that their married? I will really miss these guys. I read all the books (more than once) and then ordered them in audio. Of course the first was the best, it set everything up for the future.

  124. Hi. I discovered Sinners recently and I read the first three volumes in one go. I see that there is more volumes but not in my langage. Do you know if the next volumes will be translated in french? And when?

In the meantime, I console myself with Kai and Ryder but I miss the horrifying character of Miki … Please do something about that! I can read in english but not with all details and it’s hard to focus on the story. T^T I’m sad.

    1. I know they are working on the other books! I am hoping they hurry!

Dim Sum Asylum is in French! You might like that if you like Kai!

I’ll be at the Salon du Livre next year! I hope to see you! xoxo

And yes, I truly hope they hurry!

  125. Thank you for your reply! You’re fast. Even my college doesn’t answer me like that. Especially my college. Ah! The french administration.

I’m so impatient! I had thought of Rafe as a third member when Sionn talked about his musician background. But you managed to make him forget during the next volume. I can’t wait to discover his story and his personality and his (love?) affair with the “phenomenon” of the Morgan family!

  126. Dionne Howard

I have recently listened to all the Dinners books again. I’m so in love with Forest and Connor and I love the idea of Forest driving a minivan full of kids. I have this fantasy where Connor ‘s sister Kiki donated an egg and she teases Connor that she and Forest make beautiful babies. Might there be a possible novella in the future? I also loved Absinthe of Malice because everybody had something going on.

  127. Thank you for writing. 😀 I suggest you might want to read the short stories included under the Sinners and 415 Ink tab 😀 Connor’s already brought up that discussion regarding Kiki. 😀

  128. 123el

I absolutely loved this series the first time around, and after rereading it a couple of times it kept getting better and better! There’s so much packed in these stories, I keep finding stuff I missed the previous rounds and the stories are still just as addictive as the first time I read them (once again I’ve had some really, really shorts nights cause I just had to finish the story). I would love to read more about the guys, is there be any chance on a spin-off series about the other Morgan brothers and Miki’s father Liam? And does Liam show in other stories (by your hand or otherwise)? He seems to be so familiar, but I just can’t place him.

  129. Ah, thank you for liking Miki and the boys. There probably won’t be a spin off of the Morgan brothers but I probably will do a novella about Connor and Forest. Liam’s only book has been Sin and Tonic 😀 He just has one of those faces 😀

Smooches and thank you. xoxo I really appreciate it.

Mucho amor.

Hello. I hope you’re fine. I’m from Switzerland and I’ve read all Sinner’s collection in french. I just wanted to let a message to thank you for your hard work. I love your characters, background and stories. Thank you again for making my day with Damien and Miki just discussing, or Mec (Dude in french) or all Morgans. They’re just awesome. I wish more people in the world would be so nice and funny.

Have a nice day and stay safe, you, sour family and all your fans around the world ^^

    1. Oh thank you so so much! I am so glad you enjoyed the band’s journey from start to finish! It was wonderful to write and I am so very happy to hear from you. Damie and Miki are two favourite characters and writing them brings so much joy! Thank you again! Much love!
