Rhys Question! What’s your favorite easter egg for any of your characters, i.e. something you know about your characters that isn’t in any of the books.

  2. Tyra Berger

I would love to be at the brunch! Of course I wouldn’t be able to eat anything because I would be so excited. LOL Thanks for the opportunity.

  3. I would really want him to talk to Rick. I can see him needing to find closure with his mother, but I would want him to be able to say goodbye to Rick. Ben is beneath consideration, but Rick. Even if it was just an “I love(d) you. I’m sorry.”

Rhys, you also have inspired me to explore Korean cuisine. It has gone from something I had not given a thought to, to something I really think I will like.

  5. Elizabeth Marshall

My first time watching a live chat. Finding it very interesting! 🙂

  6. Maite

I made it to 3!!! I have to leave soon and I don’t want to. I could listen to you guys chat all day. 😘😘😘

Love hearing you read an excerpt, Greg. And great seeing you, Rhys, met you at San Diego GRL for a bit 🙂 Have to go out, but happy to watch some of the live cast 🙂

I’m not really into PI kinda stuff. But you know, I’m gonna have to go buy the first book here… lol! Already blazed through Greg’s sci fi works. 🙂 hehe and loved Black Dog Blues. That was my first ever Audiobook!

I wish I could actually listen but I’m stuck at my mom’s house right now. So I don’t know if this has been answered but when can we expect to see Absence in audio?

  9. Rhys, what is your method of coming up with ideas? Or if they just come to you, is there something you do to inspire yourself creatively? I adore you guys, I’m so impressed with both of your works!

    1. I’d love that as well. I am horrible at figuring out how words should sound if I’ve never heard them before. Guess that is why audio books are great when the narrator really nails it.

  10. (DON’T COUNT ME – I already won something). I am really enjoying this joint interview/conversation between the two of you! Looking forward to all your future projects – together and separately. This is a nice way to spend a Saturday afternoon.

  11. Question for Greg: have you ever just HAD to read out loud from a book you were reading /working on for someone sporadically when coming to a great scene? Going like, “You have got to listen to this:….”

  12. And here I am again! I’ve managed to catch a little of the YouTube live stream, but looking forward to watching the entire video later!

When I need something to make me smile or keep me awake while driving I always put on one of Rhys’s books. Murder and Mayhem is one of my favorites. Especially the mayhem and mcginnis cake I had made after reading it again.

    You guys are such fun.

Rhys – Do you keep track of the pop-culture references you slide in there? Notice many in your books, probably miss more 😉

  15. I’m a book and a word nerd. Rhys is one of my favorite authors and Greg…you rock her books.

I don’t have any questions, but I’m enjoying this live video chat.

  16. Karen

Rhys always has such amazing tours, this is a fantastic idea! I am loving it ❤️

  17. Hi, fellow book nerds 🙂 I am awake in the UK, Cambridge, so what would accent would Greg think that I might have and how does he acquire/research the different variants and dialects that each country has?

      1. Hello there Kanundra 😀 It is a wonderful way to meet your favourite authors and now the master of book narrating – yay. It would be crazy if they could also view all of us as well – apart from me as I like to hide 😀

      2. kanundra

I totally like to hide too, but author here too, I just love Rhys and Greg. Fan girl here haha 🙂

  18. Elizabeth Marshall

Lol. Loving this! I have a question… Has there ever been a book, or particular character/plot, that you’ve read that annoyed you to the point of throwing it?

  19. Miranda P

Really enjoying this and I love the Easter eggs in the books I always get excited when I get the refrence.

    1. Elizabeth Marshall

Tone! yes! One of the reasons why I love your books. It flows and the characters are alive. I’ve read so many books that are interesting but seem stilted because of the lack of personality given to the characters themselves. Brilliant writing and bringing them to life through narrating!

  20. I love listening to conversations between Jae and Ichi. The Korean vs Japanese accent. It’s so impressive to listening to the switch between them, Greg!

  21. This is so much fun. I haven’t thought much about the process of turning written characters into audio characters; it is a fascinating process. I fell in love with Montoya while listening to Murder and Mayhem (I had already fallen in love with Rook when I first read the book).
