Where do we go? *cues Guns and Roses*

Well kiddies. It’s been a long week. Lots of stress…mostly real world stuff that really should just resolve itself but it’s not. So over it looming over me. Wish me an immense amount of luck please. I need this bout to end. *nods*

That being out of the way, let’s talk writing.

Fish and Ghosts has reached the halfway mark. I’m rather liking it. Hoping to have it done in a couple of weeks actually which then brings us to…

DIRTY LAUNDRY

To say I’m apprehensive is really kind of undermining the glass butterflies shattering themselves against my brain and stomach. When writing, you kinda pretty much do it in a void. Because of timing, I don’t have any real numbers on how my books have been doing over this past quarter. I’ll know more in a couple of weeks. I mean my backlist went from 1 book in 3Q12 to pretty much close to 5 in 1Q13 (if DSP accepts W&W by the end of the month). Sinner’s Gin was really only on the 4Q12 books for two weeks.

So how do you tell if your backlist is doing well while you’re waiting for numbers? You pretty much don’t. But! It definitely is the time to interact with people who want to discuss things like books or writing.

So… what would you all like to talk about? What seems to be the style of writing you find yourself gravatating to these days? Mind candy? Hard core thrillers? Love stories with parakeets? Share.

Or even better… what are you LONGING to write?

And now since I haven’t posted anything odd in a bit… Here’s a Gay Brazilian Twerking Crew. Okay maybe not odd but you know… different.

LONGING to write: a book as concise and exciting as James Brady’s “The Marine.” Longing to write as lyrically as Michael Lowenthal: read three of his already. Wishing to meld the erotic with high adventure like Rhys. The mesmerizing “A Nail through the Heart” by Timothy Hallinan…….lots more. They all have one thing in common: focus.

**HUGS** Many many times. March was a month of epic suckage. I guess there is some comfort in knowing the suckage was universal, not specifically targeted to one person.

I’m so looking forward to Whiskey and Wry, and of course Dirty Landry. Not to mention the other book we’ve had a taste of Black Dog Blues. So by the end of the 2nd quarter your back list will have expanded once again.

My taste runs to romantic suspense, usually with a her that is a knight in slightly tarnished shining armor. I’m not a big fan of historical, or steam punk. Hero like Cole and Kane punch my buttons. I won;t read a story with an animal unless I know in advance the animal doesn’t die

I’m working on a story with a dual romance. An older more established couple watching their son fall in love. There’s a dead body, and fame and glitter and down to earth struggles. Maybe one day the entire story will come together and I’ll get it all down on paper.

    1. Oh March sucked the nasty. *grins*

Heh… I actually am going to probably one day write a Steampunk but I don’t know how it’s going to come out. We’ll have to see. Maybe. I have the idea. It’s a bitch to write.

Oooooohhh a dual romance would be great!

I just read about writer Trevanian. His pen name. He wrote everything, every style. So, Rhys, when is this steampunk novel?

Oh no! Sorry you are stressed. Have some Hyde to hopefully unstress you? *wiggles eyebrows*

I just started writing and it’s weird because I want to write contemporary but I love paranormal so I’m writing contemporary para? I think it would be awesome to one day co-write something with someone who only did non-para stuff and bring their characters into that para world. It would be a fun trip. XD

As far as numbers go, I think you’re going to do very well. I think your series is getting better and better and nobody picks up a hoard of fans on the first book. It just sorta steamrolls from there. I think you’ll do awesome, you are one of my insta-buys for sure now, if that means anything. ^__^

In other news, cats posing as hot guys:

    1. aaaaahhh hydeu….. 😀 And i just posted the cats and men on my FB heh heh heh 😀

Slowly and steady wins the race. As well as killing the people in front of you… but they kind of frown on that. I think I’m doing okay. I’m happy where I’m at. *grins* Now if I can get this book done.

Funny, I’m doing a para contemporary. *grins* SNORTS. heh
